All Blacks Sky Walk Haka - Silhouette view RWC 2011 Kia Kaha
The big build up when 13 Men get the opportunity to say GOOD LUCK to the ALL BLACKS for the RWC 2011 Grand Final.
Thanks boys for bringing the cup home. For 12 out of 13 boys being under the age of 24 we now get to witness the great triumph for our mighty ALL BLACKS. Thank you very much Skycity for this honour and privilege.
These boys are either current students or graduates at The University of Auckland and highly involved and proud of their Maori culture being from all different iwi around the North Island. They are either Current or future Teachers (Both in Maori and General), Engineers, Docters, Accountants, Marketers and the list goes on.
All together as one to support Te Kapa O Pang...

RWC Ria Hall singing night before RWC opening

The beautiful and talented Ria Hall was a prize for a lucky team who won a section of a quiz that was put together by Matarae leaders. Wish my team one that section but no luck. Ria Hall sung the World in Union song at the RWC 2011 opening ceremony. She has just launched her Album and her new website www.riahall.com.

Tapeta and Ora have just given us the idea of the flash mob Haka. After we all separate into groups we come up with a way to start the flash Mob Haka that is now taking the world by storm. My apologies I was in the Haka and my blue sock got in the way. Maui Potiki the creators of the flash mob Haka and the start and finish performers of the RWC 2011 opening ceremony

    I think the reason why these guys,are so terrifying is because they are working in unison. A unified force is intimidating. It's not easy to get people to work together as one yet somehow the maori have nailed it 👌

    Imagine watching this haka from Albert Park (where a Maori Fort/pa, used to be; protecting a village within) would give you even more chills. Would be a bloody battle at Queen street.

      Bob Perenara Thanks Bob. I'll never really understand, I'm not Maori, but the Haka provides a tiny glimpse of what it must mean to be Maori. Gives me goose flesh, which is deeply weird for me, I'm about a non spiritual as it's possible to be, but the Haka taps into something primal I didn't even know existed.

    • @kinasandwich7624

      +ali Servan like he explains in the video. I think it's the spirit of ancient times, and those who can feel it are connected to it. We love with all that we are, and we will defend what we love with all that we are. You might like to see and listen to the music of Tiki taane "TANGAROA" at the NZMA I hope you like it.

    The British were able to land and fight against the Maoris and many Maoris did perish, unfortunately. New Zealand did become part of the British empire.

  • @NoobiusTubius
    @NoobiusTubius 11 лет назад

    I'm not sure if that's entirely true. English settlers were their in the late 1800's and there were conflicts in which 800 English were killed but over 1800 Maoris also perished. There was ebetually a treaty where the Maoris actually submitted to being a part of the British Empire though they were able to manage their own internal affairs.
