I’m glad I got to see this and it was definitely worth watching. As a Green Day fan/theatre nerd back in the 2000s, this was a fun throwback for me. The actors/singers/dancers were GREAT! The vibe was fun and the lighting effects were cool. The plot was confusing at times and hard to follow, though.

I’m playing St Jimmy in April and I honestly can’t wait

while the audio quality on this recording is nearly unlistenable if you want the musical experience of the, well, musical, it's nice to see the staging. I saw this once, over a decade ago, and wow, Letterbomb is so, so much better in the musical than the album version. Female vocals really improve it. Also Favorite Son was a great addition that as far as i'm concerned is the original song for the musical. the actual new song is easily the worst one.

Oh yeah it totally makes sense to have the character St. Jimmy played by a woman, which judging by the character blatantly being sexual at times and wearing woman’s clothes isn’t intended to be like a trans male… I mean I don’t care about changing the source material (and yes I know other castings had the character played by a male) but if you’re gonna do that at least change the name so it makes more sense. And I think in the case of this show it definitely makes sense for the character to be a male seeing as one of the major themes is the two opposing forces of Jimmy and Whatshername, rage and love, colliding, and it makes the most sense to have them be opposite in every feasible way..

Walked out on that one! Literally could not stomach 5 mins! Been to 100s of concerts and plays, some good some bad. Never ever walked out even if I didnt like it! This one was special! Noise no plot couldnt hear a word. Lah blah. American idiot! To this day I feel that shyte band owes me my money back! This video pretty much says it all! 🤮

Is this off broadway or just a community theatre? I assumed it was off broadway but i don't think that level of production would have such bad mics (no hate to the show at all everything else is great) like the kind that pic up a bunch of breathing

I just saw my friend in a production done in southern New Mexico and it was fantastic. This show was so great!! I honestly cried a few times in the show
