On AboutFace, you can learn about post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and PTSD treatment from people who have been there. Hear real stories from Veterans and their family members, and get advice from clinicians who have treated thousands of Veterans with PTSD. Their message: If you’re struggling with PTSD, you’re not alone -and you don’t have to live with your symptoms forever. Treatment can turn your life around. AboutFace is produced by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Center for PTSD, the world’s leading center for PTSD research and education. The National Center’s mission is to improve the lives of America's Veterans and others who are dealing with the aftermath of traumatic stress.
We like to think through what that healing journey will look like for you.

You don’t have to be sorry. They will understand if they love you.
Same bestie ❤ Glad we are still here.
Great explanation
You know, we send our young men to all parts of foreign lands to kill people, and then expect them to come home and not be affected by what they lived through. Not a realistic expectation at all.
Hey Bill, I was a ditty bop, about the same time you were, Alaska 1968-1970, Da Nang 1970-71 and finished at Udorn Thailand, touch base with me if you can.....ditty-dah.........dit-dit-dit......dit-dah..............ditty dah dit.........

The smell of burning flesh. Fuck that shit forever.
If they had empathy then they would know you were needing them at the time and be there for you without you asking. Even if you speak, talk and explain to them and ask for their time and attention and affection, would it be the same if they were to be there for you by themselves without you asking? Because they will be there for you not because they really genuinely wanted to be there but because you begged for it and now they are there for you because they pity you. Is this really love and caring, genuine? Would it feel the same? And the fact that they may speak about it later like they did so much for you in the future and expect you to be grateful for them. The real solution is "letting it go". Just learn be there for yourself, learn how to calm yourself and comfort yourself. And take refuge in God Almighty himself, don't ask for miracles but some soothing for your chest.
Did they help?

I served in Graves Registration, 25th Infantry in Cu Chi, Dau Tieng, and at the Army Mortuary in Saigon for a total of 31 months, starting in 1968. I have received a disability compensation check for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder related to that service over 30 years. Disabled American Veterans helped me get through the process to include appeal. Fortunately I was able to perform all my duties during my time of service and did what needed to be done. A cost came to me later.
I am crazy. Give me a bong rn frfr.
I heard lots of veterans w PTSD get flagged because the bring a knife or gun and attack the therapist.
I can start burning up at any time same and within less than a minute my clothes are soaking wet thru with freezing cold sweats that once it starts just gets worse until i get back home take all mi clothes off rap myself in towels and lay down till it stops, this happens allday over and over, so a can't even go far from home because once am wet and cold a feel like am going to pass out, this been happening nar about a year and is unbearable but when have told lots of different doctors they just say thats sounds strange, i wish i could afford a private doctor or something that would run some real tests and figure out what it is instead of just taking my blood and saying they don't know what it is and not taking it serious
I have been having these symptoms for 20 + years and I also have no answers either. 🫂
31 seconds? waste of time
