I have been to Israel numerous times in my life and traveled to literally every corner of Israel, Yehudah and Shomron. On every trip, I made plans and an effort to go and visit Ma’arat HaMachpelah, to pray at the resting place of the four couples, our ancestors. But every time, on the specific day arranged to go there, I was prevented, because of violence in the area and the Israeli military closing accessibility to the area temporarily. Now I am much older and my resources to once again make this trip, now alone, are limited. I have prayed at the Kotel in Jerusalem and in Meron where Rabbi Shimon and his son together with Hillel and his students rest. I have accepted that when G-d wishes to allow me to visit and pray with my fathers and mothers, He will arrange for this to happen. And if not, then my soul will depart this world without having accomplished this goal because it is not G-d’s will at this time. The war of gog and magog does not happen until the fulfillment of the "gentile age". In other words it's after the "revived Roman empire"--the time in which we currently live. If you recall Nebuchadnezzar's vision of the statue, the "Stone cut without hands" will destroy the final form of gentile rule. Messiah Himself will set up a 1000 year kingdom IN JERUSALEM which he will rule with a "Rod of Iron". Of course the only reason to need a rod of iron is for discipline and the only need for discipline is if sin is still in the world. Satan is "bound" during this time, but the unredeemed will still occupy the kingdoms of the world. After this time Satan will be released and will gather the armies of the world against Messiah's kingdom and of course be utterly wiped out. THEN the great and final judgement will occur, with Satan and his demons cast forever into the Lake of Fire. Afterwards the Jews (which includes the gentiles that were "grafted-in") will occupy the heavenly kingdom prepared by the Father. What a glorious end to God's story!
