Cool! Compression springs are always nicer for really dialing things in. I wouldn't have smacked the crank that hard though, can be hard on the bearings. I use a nylon mallet for the tappy tap tap, and with properly lapped tapers i've never had anything slip.

I hate that these weren't imported here, one of my dream bikes. Pretty sure they have the same engine as the QT50, unless it's 2 speed? You can probably get a kickstart lever cheap for it. Looking forward to seeing more of it!

A tip if you're in a pinch and don't want to buy a piston stop. You can use rope fed in through the spark plug hole.
