Been listening obsessively since coming across Uche a week or two ago. Even though the song is so bright and catchy, the lyrics are just... wow. Think I hear it right "I saw a corpse(s) washed up on the beach / I wanna go somewhere to reset my feelings", living in the UK and hating the public swing towards the far-right here, it's relatable. I thought about the photo of the refugee child face-down on the beach that was on the front of newspapers years back, dead. It really haunts me after all this time. And the anti-immigration rhetoric here disgusts me, because that image is in the back of my mind constantly, people are just heartless here. It gets overwhelming thinking that they might be the majority and that I'm surrounded by them (there are good people who feel the same as I do too though, just not as common). "I wanna go somewhere to reset my feelings" - I get it.

My favourite discovery of 2024, every track I've heard on this (and before) is incredible. Can't get enough!

Hi I’m back! I sang this song while I cut the grass this morning and I kept thinking, how did a young woman write from the perspective of a lonely old abusive man?
