Yes absolutely! You could apply to a lab as a research assistant as you are already working on your MSC as well. This would give you move leverage over an internship and also understand if you would like to continue into a PhD. This can help you understand if that's the lab you want to continue on for your PhD as well or try else where. Good luck!

Many universities and companies do accept fresh graduates with low experience but such work experience does help. You could try to apply for jobs or a msc (depending on what you want to pursue). In the mean time working a an intern wouldn't hurt and can help you with your chances.

You could write about your work in projects or class projects that you might have worked on. If you feel you don't have any experience, if you get the opportunity try to join some projects or groups in your university that can provide you with the relevant introduction to the field.

Its never too late! You realizing this now is a good sign too. You can start applying for the summer term if you don't already have an internship semester. IISC, IITs, DRDOs, NITs are good. It also depends on whose lab you go to and what kind of experience you are looking for. You could also try in independent labs too or companies.

No necessarily. However, reading on the topic or having shown interest prior can be helpful in understanding your own interests and that why some understanding of the topics would be good. Regardless of an internship abroad or in your home country the understanding of the research topic would be valuable. Hope this helps :)

Yes, it can be time consuming but it's always preferable to write a cover letter and then mold it to the different positions you are applying for. Do understand that each professor you apply to most likely will have different research topics so a well crafted cover letter ensures that you understand the role and help them get a better understanding of your interests.

Absolutely! Some institutes might be a bit skeptical of taking high school students but you can give it a go! It is possible. The process remains the same. If you are able to get some experience of doing an internship in grade 12, that can be highly beneficial in helping you understand your career goals and objectives.

At worst, you would be rejected :)
