After my quick first ride I give you my first impressions of the bike. stefanfrittiert
What's the longest run you've done on it
Where can i get those bags??
Hi....was wondering if you posted this video for somebody to listen to your engine. I have the same engine in my Triumph.....has the same cold start tapping you have.....is it something your aware of....only heard cold engine. Nick in the UK.
Hello, I don’t hear the noise in real life maybe it’s picked up bu the phone. Did you have an issue with your engine that was solved buly Triumph? I will check next time more accurately if I can hear the tapping. Thanks!
@@stefanfrittiert1038 No Triumph and its dealers have been of no help. Good chance the mechanical tapping is of no consequence but its just not knowing.
Since you mentioned the Svartpilen is not great for long trips, I'm guessing the next bike is going to be something like BMW R 1200 GS? Btw long time review would be great! I'm thinking of buying one as well
I put a short on my channel with the new bike 😜
Im back, after watching a few of your other vids. Although I liked the Metallic Red, I think this Metallic Green goes much better with the Silver parts of the bike. 👍You will have to call it Grönpilen now!😂😂
Hi Steffan! You're bike looks great, i especially love the black spokes👌I'm watching your videos coz I'm thinking of buying one. Is the downpipe going around the lefthand side original or did first owner change to KTM one for more ground clearance?
Hi! The bike was completely original, this is the first Euro 4 version and the exhaust was like this. The Euro 5 has the exhaust going down… thanks for the comments. I can recomment the bike, I sold it in the meantime gone for something bigger. But it was good fun.
Would love a long time review as i am currently looking to buy a 2018 model. How is the maintenance? Do you do it yourself? Is it difficult?
Hello I always did the service to a mechanic, but if you are a bit able to work with motors I saw already videos where people do it themself. Check the electronics because some models had issues, I never had problems axcept ABS light coming up but nothing serious
@@stefanfrittiert1038 Ok thanks!
So you strip off the previous color and spray a new one on, all without destroying the original finish? I'd love a time lapse video of you doing this or a series of pics as you go through the process. Thanks for your vids on this bike!
Hello usually I strip the old colour away and you have the original plastic without problem. In this occasion I just sprayed the new colour on top (stripping out is not as easy as it sound on the plastic). I cannot do a video like you wish because the bike is sold already, I have a new one 😎😅
@@stefanfrittiert1038Thanks for the reply. I'm going to check out that paint for a couple of projects I have going on. Including some really scuffed areas on my '87 Honda Elite 250.
What model is your svartpilen, i notice in the newer model the exhaust system goes underneath the bike, not through the frame and engine like yours does.
Mine is the first model from 2018. I think in 2020 they changed because of the new Euro regularions.
Is the Mass exhaust just the slip on? Or the full system? They offer both on the Mass website.
Mine was just slip-on
How many kms did you complete? Is your engine smooth and working fine or it got ceased like ktm 40,000km
That saddle-bag set up is amazing. Nice colour wrap too. I'm guessing "Full Dip" is the same as Plasti-dip in North America.
Thanks! Yes exactly just another brand but same kind of vinyl spray. The colour was great, sadly riding it gets scratched, so I peel it off and changed. It was then gold and now red…probably now the best yet… I need to make another video I think 😅
Brilliant review and lovely bike!
Great looking husky
Thanks
Great looking Svart! Do you have a video on how you modify the pipe, I saw that the pipe has different path from the stock? Thank you and more power!
Is the seat comfortable for long distance riding?
Not much, if I ride more that 100-150 km I wear cyclist pants under 😅
@@stefanfrittiert1038 haha thanks for that information.
I just bought a 2023 Vitpillen. I really like your mirrors. What brand are they? Link?
Hello I don’t remember because I bought them years ago on amazon. Just look for “bar end mirrors”. They are not legal though in Europe, too small.
Hello can you make a video explaining how to remove the read side covers. I am also wrapping my svart, but I can’t remove the rear side covers/pannels (not the ones near the tank, but the ones near the break light) it would be extremely helpful. Thank you.
Hello I cannot remove them now but it’s quite straight forward. There are many screws and bolts, you need to remove the rear light also. Just write exactly where the bolts come from, because they are not all the same lenght. My bike changed colour again this winter 😂🫣
whats the name of the exhaust ?
Mass Moto
Id be willing to pay for one of those bag holders tbh
It looks really great! Love the green with the white👍👍
👍🏻 Nice!
Why da fuckk doo joo speak likhe dees...fuckin caucus moron
Great color choice on a great bike . What’s it’s name ?
Geh mach was anderes!
Hallo wie meinst?
Hey. Love watching your 401 build series. Love the cone exhaust, goes great with the cafe racer from the future thing the bike's going for. Just wondering what those tyres are? I'm getting a Svartpilen in a few days and I was thinking of going with the kind of road rally style where it has just a hint of off road ability to them, not just for the odd adventure but also for style.
Hi mate thanks, I’m glad you like my videos. I got a bit lazy to be honest, I should make a new one soon 😅 Anyway the tyres are Dunlop Mutant, I am very happy with those altough they don’t last as good as the original (rear mainly). But riding quality and grip are better.
@@stefanfrittiert1038 Thanks very much. Will look them up myself. Happy riding.
Love the colour I want your bike :)
sounds good! hello from the philippines :)
Sick job man. Not my favorite colors but it looks great .
Where is the side yellow lights?
If you mean the indicators, in the 2018 model they are down where the number plate is.
Good video! I see this video was made some time ago. Do you still have the bike and any updates on how it's going? Have you thought about the 701 Svartpilen? Just asking thanks!
Hello yes I still have the bike and will keep it, being one of the first produced and my first bike I am very bond to it. Did not have major problems and I am changing the chain and oil at the moment, as soon as it’s back from the garage will male a quick update. 701 not for me, if I will change in a couple of years I am thinking as something completely different.
@@stefanfrittiert1038 I was asking about the 701 because it pretty much the same bike but more horse power and a little bigger. So I thought you might like it. How do you feel about the power of the bike? Its a unique looking and performing bike and there is nothing else like it on the market.
@@p-dub7422 i cannot hide the fact that sometimes I miss some horse powers… expecially on long tour and doing straight roads. I am lucky to live near nice twisty roads and that’s where the fun begins. I am not a crazy rider, more enjoy the roads…
Beautiful job on the paint!
Thanks, I changed it for this season not green anymore 😂
Another bike ....or change the color? Good choice Stefan :D haha I know what the process feels like
Thanks, colour change is cheaper than new bike 😅
@@stefanfrittiert1038 Don't worry....we've saved thousands making this decision haha I'm currently debating on this bike, but can't figure out what to say "good bye" to first 😬😬😬
Love it! Want one.
Has the bike been reliable? I know yours was built in Austria. Thanks
Exhaust name ??
Mass Exhaust, Made in Italy I think the model is called Big Bore but I’m not sure.
good looking and useful bags !
Do you have any measurements for how big the luggage rack is?
かっこいー!
I think it looks dope without the branding 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Can I use this video on my channel??? If non copyrighted
Yes no problem, tag my name if you can
@@stefanfrittiert1038 okay ✅
which engine guard do you have on bottom of your bike?
It’s stock 2018 model
Is that a vinyl wrap? Or a paint job?
It’s a vinyl Spray called Fulldip, you can remove it after but it’s not so easy as on the metal… It was green last year.
Love the color. I want to do mine yellow I think
I wanted to be more yellow but I used a dark primer…. and it turned out gold. Next time I know for clear colours a clear primer. Gold looks good anyway.
beautiful colour man and nice exhaust btw. Sounds sweet ;)
Hello, are you done with the painting?
Hello yes painting is finished but still missing the stickers
I love Svartpilen and the color of this one is very nice! You did a very nice job with the bags!
Thank you! The colour is gonna change 😅 already removed the wrap
If you do it over the original paint without proper preparations or proper paint, for that matter, it will OBVIOUSLY peel off. If you really want to do a paintjob, I suggest getting it done by a professional. (tho I personally wouldn't paint that bike, it's stock gorgeous) I like what you did with the bags, tho, pretty clever.
Thanks, I know it’s better doing it by a professional but I enjoy having the hands dirty myself also if the result is not perfect. Then if I resell it I can make it original again 👍🏻
what product did you use to relocate your rear turn signals to the fender? I'm wondering what I'm going to do when I put saddle bags on my pilen 401
I did not touch the rear signal, first models are down to the plate
how did you choose the q bags .... I see there are a few varieties ...... I think the ones you have are 22 liters ..... are you able to ride with a passenger ..... there is a larger bag .... I Think it is 36 liters expandable to 48 liters .....do you know if this will work?
I am not sure, I think I have chosen the smallest one as the bike is small... space with passenger is limited but possible, the big bags might be too big
Hello it looks like you increased the ground clearance if so how did you do it?
I did’t actually, maybe it’s just the position of the camera.
@@stefanfrittiert1038 ok that is my current issue I keep scrapping the bottom
@@lorenzolewis7128 i only made it more stiff, you can adjust the rear dampers with the screw
@@stefanfrittiert1038 how??
@@lorenzolewis7128 you have a tool under the seat in the tool box, it’s written in the manual book you have 5 levels of rigidity
