3 Nights at Byers Lake Denali State Park Winter Cabin Alaska

After pulling sleds out from Red Shirt Lake we drove North to pull sleds into another cabin on Byers Lake in Denali State Park. First Stop Airbnb in Anchorage

After driving 36 hours straight through British Columbia and the Yukon to get to Alaska our first stop was an Airbnb in Anchorage. I start by showing off the Airbnb we booked which was solely because it had a sauna, just being honest. We drive around Anchorage aimlessly along the coast. We drive through a one-lane tunnel to Whittier. We come to terms with planning and expectations of activities...

Nice video. We did Boquillas day trip a few weeks ago. Just learned about it a few months ago. I don't think many people know about this international trip from Big Bend. Happy trails!
Had to drop a comment to say what a great video this was. Really appreciate the fact you knew when to turn around and why. And great footage of the trail and conditions towards the top, great beta for a future hike to Electric.
This makes me want to give it another shot in the future. Glad you enjoyed it. 🤙
Curse you much big shot
I stopped exactly where you stopped!
Your dedication to conservation work is truly inspiring. Stepping into this important role for the first time and making a positive impact is something to be proud of. Your efforts not only contribute to preserving our environment but also set a remarkable example for others. And I am Floating Village Life, Hit follow and let's explore together!
Well written. Learning as we go! Thank you.

Hey man I’m thinking of running this trail in the end of September. Hope there’s no snow!
Nice! Let me know what the conditions are like
Well done!
Thanks!
Smoked!!! I could smell it from here!
I didn't see any smoke when I was out there
Stange how an American citizen needs a passport to enter Texas from Mexico. But a citizen of any other country doesn't.
The first time I used my passport was here
Great info sir. Gracias! 👍
Welcome!
LOVE THE VIDEO!!
Glad you enjoyed it!

The village across the river is indigenous. They don’t see a border they see a river they’ve lived on for hundreds of years. The cross illegally everyday. The men talking at the entrance of the canyon cross everyday on horse back and boat.
That makes sense to me. You changed my perspective on how they see things.
Awesome video!
A fun one to work through
what a good you have done
A fun drive worth taking
Much better to see the island by water, dont have to eat that chicken feed either. Can haul much more weight
Noted! I know there are points I would have liked to get out to. Any suggestions or paddle around the entire island?
Great Video.
Now that's a drive, we Loved Banff, we went there twice. Great video.⛷
Hell yeah I saw you were up there and the area is incredibly beautiful. A must stop for anyone that's around that area
Just discovered your channel randomly and it's super interesting and helpful for me as I'm going to embark on a US solo trip myself including many national parks and specifically Big Bend. One thing I don't really understand is how to figure out where should I go inside those national park?
Awesome! The beginning and planning of a trip is exciting because everything seems possible. In regards to figuring out where to go it all depends on what you like. A great place to start would be the national park website or visitor center. They can offer things to do which may be appealing to you and within your capabilities without putting you at risk. For me I was mostly hiking anywhere I went so I used online blogs and apps such as all trails to find my trails. The hikes I like are challenging and have great views in the area (longer distance and more elevation gain). The more difficult anything the less people you will come across but not always. In the case of Big Bend I knew there were Hot Springs worth trying to find, Emory Peak being the highest point, canyons along the Rio Grande worth exploring, and the port of entry into Boquillas Mexico as seen here. It helps to start with activities you are most interested in then prioritize them with the time you have in the area. I would also note campgrounds and places to stay for cheap (or in my case free) are limited so plan campgrounds/ such ahead of time. Enjoy your trip! If you have other questions I'm can share tips and thoughts from my experience. I really just looked for places and things I thought were cool and wanted to try. Hope this helps
@@bryantsinka It really helps, thank you very much!
Mantap..........👍
sick video bro im actually considering doing a quick 2 night camping trip in death valley before i fly back north for Christmas anything important i should note, im thinking of doing it in my bmw x5 and ill bring water and food but still not sure of what else i need
Nice! You will have a great time. The only gas station is down in the valley at cost. Food and water is really all you need. I stayed at Mahogany Flats because it is free campingpemding if roads are open. I think there are more free campsites available but you might have to check me on that. I didn't spend any time down in the valley exploring so please share your experience if you do any hiking. You should have a great time, thanks!
Thank you for the tips!!! I was concerned about the gas part and thought about bringing a gas can.
@@Laud_Visuals Definitely a good place to consider the gas can haha. Glad you enjoyed yourself
Thx
Hope it helps
@@bryantsinka yes. It showed me right where the front passenger seat bolts were under those covers. Awesome. Mine is a 2002 crv and was close to what you have

Bryant, nice ! see ya-=))
Thanks!
I wonder how this would work with my 2014 CR-V.
I've been curious how a more up to date version would look myself
Thanks for the video. What month was this?
I'm glad you found it useful. This was Nov 30th
FISHING POLE!! that's a great creek mouth to fish. rainbows and cutthroats and whitefish. all edible. I've never been skunked there. I've camped there on about a half dozen occasions. mostly on my way to Brown/Boulder Passes area or my way back. it's a great day trip too, in a canoe. a couple hours each way and a few hours fishing.....
Will buy a pole so next time I go anywhere I'm ready! Thanks for the insight
Are there areas at Bowman to truck camp with an overland type setup? Or disperse camp by the road?
@@millertime1068 Bowman has a large campground. Kintla has a decent size campground. And Logging Lake Ranger campground is also open up the North Fork. All have fire pits and outhouses. Bowman has lots of trail possibilities....
@@jerrystraka7856 awesome thank you
@@millertime1068 it was still a great place to get away when the crowds hit Logan and GTTS road (about 2000 and on). i spent 35+ years exploring Glacier. keep it up! i have so many great memories....but no video. i appreciate it. (i retired to the Andes 3 yrs ago - Ecuador) Thanks some hikes. from Bowman campground: -the Quartz loop - 12-13 miles. -Numa Ridge Lookout - 4+ miles one way. 3500' elevation -Lower Quartz Lake (my hidden fishing hole for 10 lb. trout at the far end creek inlet) is over the ridge from Bowman and about 3.5 miles one way. gains about 1700'. -Brown Pass - 12 miles -Bowman Lake backcountry campground - about a 6 mile shoreline hike.
gracias por visitar boquillas coahuila
If anyone is in the area it is worth a visit!
The people are wonderful. I think it is worth it for the whole experience like you mentioned

Great video.. On our bucket list
It is tough and rewarding
Man,,, I can't wait to go for first time! 🏂😆
I enjoy winter activities 😀
Is it worse going down or up?
I always find the going down harder because foot placement. The actual hike has good support for hand placement
Big Bend is such a cool place
Agree. I know I want to go back and kayak the Rio Grande. If you have other suggestions please share

So I recently discovered this series. Thanks for putting it out. I have been up there a few times. Getting up there in a few weeks. Same area. Going to try to get to basswood falls.
Nice! We heard about Basswood falls but with weather and timing weren't able to make it up there
I think the trick is to go hard and far the first two days to get in the area. Was there a campsite on new York island?
@@harrygrimley4352 100% agree. It didn't look like a campsite besides a large ring of rocks. I cant remember if there was an established campsite there or not in the maps
Ddi you disconnect the battery when you started pulling the seat connections for the airbag? I just wondered as I have seen on newer cars they say disconnect the battery so the airbag doesn't go off when disconnecting.
We did not. It may be different since this is a 2003, but I can tell you the airbags did not deploy. Also I found this quick search about my SRS light which is always on because the disconnection. "It's important to know that if your SRS light is on, your airbag system is not functioning. If you are in an accident, the airbag will not deploy. This can increase your risk of injury in an accident." Jan 21, 2021
Another great video. Steady climbing, great hike. 🏔
Love the colors of winter in the mountains
Excellent music choice and timing. Art

I had a head piece but never wanted to wear it haha
Then get a camera stabilizer, making us seasick. Nice report, though. Thanks.
Wow, looks amazing out there. So beautiful so challenging and incredible views! Nice video Bryant!
It is worth a day if you are in the area. Thank you!
Nice footage, that's tough to attempt that as a day hike!
Definitely! Might have been my longest day hike and I never made it to the summit
Enjoyed it! Did you see any other parts of the park?
I did, the following day went into the Chisos Basin and hiked up Emory Peak
Great vid but please eat something.
I have increased my calories since thanks for notice!
Imma go there .
Definitely a good one
