I'm glad they let you out of your lump of coal to give this presentation!
Terrific!
Great interview. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you for allowing us to few this. This was a great conversation. I am a graduate of Whatsamatter U under the instruction of Dr. Bullwinkle J. Moose as well. I read the book 2 weeks ago on a train ride from Norfolk VA to Hartford CT (roundtrip). Now I can read it again (I loved it) knowing the perspective of the author (purpose) and my favorite journalists (unedited review).
English please. VIEW not FEW
Thank you. Reading in Mark Twain’s Autobiography of Susy’s “Papa”, I had doubts if it was just a technique to structure his own manuscript. Did Susy's handwritten documents actually survive?
I see two errors I need to correct: I said "Clara Clemens" at one point when referring to Mr. Griffin's daughter, Clara Josephine Griffin (who was named after Clara Clemens). I said "Hosiah Henson" when I meant Josiah Henson. Of course, there is much more to Mr. Griffin's remarkable life than I could cover in 25 minutes, so I hope those wishing to learn more about him will support the Mark Twain Journal and the Mark Twain House & Museum by purchasing a copy of the Spring 2024 Mark Twain Journal with Mr. Griffin's 20,000 word biography (which I am still expanding). My thanks for everyone at the MTH&M who made this program possible; you are a great team and wonderful hosts!
Thanks for a really excellent program, excellent in more ways than one! Mr. Clemens would be pleased.
This was a excellent program . I am so excited for the new info on George Griffin ! . I look forward to sharing this new info as tour guide at the Mark Twain House !
Paul. Loved you presentation on Gillette Castle. Forgot the date of the presentation, don't forget I'm 275 yrs. old now and tend to forget things.😂 So I just saw it on RUclips. Stay well and keep in touch. Give my regards to Andy and mom and dad. God bless
Fascinating, my aunt, a registered nurse studied at this institute, probably in the 30’s, she became the head nurse at Hillcrest TB Sanitarium in Quincy,Illinois. I used to visit as a child and even stayed overnight in the small cottage in the back, where she lived. Building was torn down in 1968. I have her scrapbook of her time in Saranac Lake at the institute.
Thoroughly enjoyed this presentation! Keep up the great work!
Resting in Fort Lauderdale!
Professor Mackintosh--compelling narrative, and well researched. Just want to alert you to your frequent use of the word "right," which can be distracting. FYI. Regards, Dr. Walter Powell, Plymouth, MA
Joining from Plymouth, MA. As a former resident of Gettysburg, I can alert you that we celebrated its Mineral Springs immediately after the Civil War, with the "Springs Hotel" just west of town--and bottled water also made available.
Hello from Owego, NY Thanks for offering this remote option!!
Amazing ,thank you all for this reading !!
Great talk, indeed. Much learned. Thank you, Linda, and all involved...
Fantastic insights!
One correction: I said Buick when I meant to say Oldsmobile.
Nicely done. The Mark Twain House in Hartford is an interesting place.
