We took a road trip to Shenandoah Junction, WV and were not disappointed at all. The action started as soon as I got out of the car. This is one of the many trains that I captured. This is a mixed manifest. He gives the railfans a horn salute on the way by. #trains #csx #railroad #shenandoah #cumberlandsub

Loud slack action on a CSX train working Bayview Yard

CSX is working Bayview Yard cutting off cars. For context, it is 2.3 miles to the far west end of the yard from this crossing. We are on the east side. The slack action sounds like a wind blowing in, then a boom as the cars collide. That starts around the 1 minute mark. Enjoy! #trains #csx #
CSX brings an 800+ axle monster coal train to Baltimore’s Curtis Bay Coal Pier through St Denis

I spent a day in St Denis and this was the first freight action of the day. This loaded coal train was headed into Baltimore’s Curtis Bay Coal Pier. The axle count was 830 axles. There was a bunch of chatter on the scanner just as EOT passed the car clearance detector so the count is not in the video. Enjoy and thanks again for watching! #trains #csx #railroad #coal #dpu

I went over to Todds Lane to catch a train and I was not disappointed. At first I thought it was a BNSF foreign power until it got closer. It was Canadian National dragging an alcohol train into Baltimore. #trains #csxphillysub #canadiannational

The oldest railroad in the country still operating under its original charter leaves Strasburg Station for its 4 mile run. Strasburg is a must visit for any railfan. This is a great 45 minute ride and worth every penny. Lancaster is beautiful countryside and a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Last minute change of plans results in surprise heritage unit! I was able to catch the Canton 1906 switcher finish up his work for the day. He pulls out and blocks the road. The conductor throws a yard switch and he shoves back onto another track to ready for another crew. The Canton Railroad was founded in 1906 to move goods around the Canton area of Baltimore. It's rare that new John Deere tractors travel on the Northeast Corridor. Glad you caught that, buddy! SD70ACC #1820 led that train, and the OLS unit, #5670 is a GP38-2!
I caught NS 1050 the day prior at the port doing an end around and taking a cut of tractors and loaded autoracks to the docks on the Sparrows Point Industrial Track. Thanks for taking the time to watch!

Look at the dust coming off of the coal.
Right? I believe at the very end you can hear coal hitting the tracks from the fallout! Even if this load went through a sprayer before getting here, it wouldnt have matterred much. Its been very hot lately and it would just dry right up. Thanks for watching!

I saw that same exact train crossing the Anacostia River.
I railfan the NEC. And I always go Mondays. Why? Because I find rare trains on Mondays.
I see rarities on Fridays on the NEC. NS runs locals here and I have seen the new Acela train sets being ran during the day twice on friday. As long as I see something, I am happy.

I like watching from west Baltimore near the abandoned American Ice plant as well as Gwynn’s tower, Halethorpe and Catonsville.
And the the star was definitely the freedom thrower 😊 the trains were cool too but that A10 though

The Northeast corridor is one of the busiest rail lines in the world. And it's only gonna get busier
They are definitely gonna keep some old Acela Amtrak trains around because they still have life of them just in case the new Acela Amtrak breaks down I'm telling you.
