This is really insightful and looks like the most unique way of spending time, albeit kind of exhausting at times. Interesting that so many were left on their own so much and truly sad. Especially as so few of them if any ever got to se the great outdoors as well.

I love cats, and spent some time living in my employer's guesthouse with all the cats she had in her rescue, but couldn't rehome. One of them used to hide behind the bathroom door, leap out and wrap himself around my leg and gnaw ( hard ) on my shin while scratching my calf. I understoo0d why that one didn't get adopted. The constant exposure to cat fur made my allergies kick in and I ended up having to move elsewhere.

Interesting stories. Thank you for the video. Definitely I could never inject a kitty cat or be in a messy apartment. The sad part was the kitty cat in a room. They are wild animals that like to climb, run and play. Why torture that kitty cat locking him in a room? That’s a crime. I hope you called animal protection services and the kitty cat should be taken away from that monster human. The cat should be adopted by a loving person and set free to roam the house not a shitty tiny apartment.

I have a couple questions: Why didn't you take 395 all the way? How could you say I 10 west, if you are diving from I 15, which is west of Palm Desert? You put Cook Street long before you got there. I have made that trip many, many times, as my sister lived in Lake Tahoe, and I lived in Palm Desert, off of Cook Street. I find 395 to be one of the most beautiful roads. I drove there several times, but my favorite time was riding a bike. Driving a car, you can see the scenery. Riding a bike you are in the scenery.

This record was so important to me when it dropped. I was at Carnegie Mellon singing in a vocal jazz group and we had many of the charts from the first record in our repertoire. We met Todd and saw Rare Silk somewhere in Pittsburgh in the Spring of '85. "American Eyes" was so amazing at the time and remains a favorite record of mine. This performance is fanatstic! Really lovely film! I've pet sat off and on over the years. One owner left me 8 pages of instructions. This cat had no medical issues, no eating issues, no meds, no behavior issues. About one page had useful info about where things were, regular vet & emergency vet contacts, food amounts. The rest were instructions of what phrase to say after each activity with the cat, what time of day the cat preferred for each activity and so on. Essentially I was hired to impersonate the owner. Acting is not in my skill set so I just interacted with the cat playing the part of myself and taking cues from the kitty. She was perfectly happy with that.

I think it's wrong to get a cat in small apartment in such a noisy city. It's so unnatural environment and these messy apartments are not healthy for any pets.

I just recently started pet-sitting for my boss and this is probably my dream job, I LOVE hanging out with other people's pets and seeing how they live.

One of my current cats had been stuck in an apartment for the first 4 years of his life and at my home in the suburbs, he gets to go outside all day and he loves it and has become a decent hunter.

I guess like many police officers, maybe some social workers or psychiatrists working with the public can at times be heart breaking because there are some bizarre, necrotic notions that take over some people and if they are in charge of their pets or children's lives and a point comes where these other professionals are involved well, they are limited in what can be done. Sad,but this is as it should be, because some of these neuroses can be part of these professionals' mindset. Stay chill out there! You are not meant to save the world.

I love the old apartments and seeing the cats lives and a unique perspective of the owners home life by what they have and how they set up their place . Was a real treat to watch and I love knowing people like you gave and give those cats love while their owners were out on business , vacation or even sick.
