Fitting ferrules to a quad bamboo fly rod is a unique challenge. You can't just turn the blank round in a lathe like you do with 5 and 6 strip rods. If you did you would remove too much precious power fiber rich bamboo. Instead you use a square broach to make the ferrule fit the square blank. You do this by first annealing the nickel silver then pressing a square broach into the ferrule. One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that you need to round off the corners of the broach.
