Amazing beautiful all-encompassing Christmas Homily.

I grew up Catholic many years ago in the States and we always went to Mass for Thanksgiving Morning or Eve. My parents and the parish kept us Catholic and our Catholic school created space for families to attend Mass Thanksgiving Eve. We were told it wasn't a Catholic Feast like Christmas but giving thanks and praise was part of our religion. So many great things from years ago, like the Angelus, can come back if we try. Ring the Bells!

I was just looking for this when it came up. Thank you Lord. Looking forward. Praying these Novenas from St Stephen's have been fruitful for me. Thank you Father Eric.

Interestingly, the liberal left in the US have created a whole range of "celebrations," filling the calendar. As Father says here, this is not appropriate to the meaning of a Festival. These additions become a distraction to work, not an authentic celebration.

I will be there Fr for the Epiphany Novena and I’m going to midnight Mass! A Blessed Christmas to you too Father. Show us your tree when you’re finished and it’s all lit up. I just got up my Nativity this evening so as to return with Jesus in the manger after midnight Mass. 🎄 good choice with Josef Pieper! Can’t go off course with him.

Burned up works refers to the Day of the Lord: 2 Peter 3:10-13 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn. Thus, no purgatory.

Merry Christmas to you father. I love praying the novenas with you and thank you for your teachings, I pass them along to my grown children so they can feel at ease and combat Walmart and Home Depot’s commercialization of Christmas. 🌲
