Haas Mill Alarm
This is a video I took while machining a part from my backyard railroad. The part was overhanging from the vice just a little too far and created this very amusing harmonic. It Sounds exactly like an alarm only it’s actually the chatter of the aluminum or the Endmill.

Toro Diesel Snowblower Rolling Coal and Blowing Snow!

In this video I show my custom made diesel snow blower. cold starts and rolling coal on a 16F degree Pennsylvania winter day
Seriously, It's not meant for a boat of that size, it's not really rocket science.
you can also get a different tank for the gx35 that fills from the top. they are used in verital use tools like an auger . very handy for outboard conversion like this vid.
Bought my 4hp Hankai on Amazon (Aug 3, 2024) for $189.
Hi. I ve got that engine since 10 years now. The clutch slips not that bad because my boat is lighter but had to replace clutch pads some years ago. It came without gear oil in the propeller and I filled with sae 90. And you have to store it in horizontal position with engine oil carter down , if not it leaks oil by exhaust or by carb. Anyway , it works well in small boat or kayak or canoe. And fuel consumption is almost none . Great vid .
Could you please share the exact fuel consumption of this engine?
@@TarikulIslam-vp8ot I haven't measured carefully , but it's near 500cc / hour at full throttle .
It's impossible to start when the engine is warm?
The prop is probably too large for the small engine. I'd try shaving the prop blades down some. This would allow the engine to rev higher allowing the clutch to expand harder against the drive, and also allowing the engine to operate at a higher rpm and possibly develop more power.
what a crap. 110 degrees is nothing its probably the heat from the engine itsself! If it would be 200 degrees you would be right but otherwise what you are saying is just garbage
Something don't sound right own the same unit don't have that problem with the clutch. There no rocket but it gets you there. ???
I used one of these out boards for 12 months. No problem. Great little engine.
I have the 3 HP slightly smaller. Use a pot of boiling water poured slowly on the top of the cylinder to start in super cold weather. Mine doesn't smoke unless you flip the throttle around. The oil won't warm up in the cold. I keep my RPM's down so it will last. 15W40 oil.
If possible replace clutch with a genuine Honda parts may make a difference.
where did you get the pulley?
Its not latching out.
Very good done and informative review. The slipping clutch sounds very bad! Maybe a smaller prop could help to solve the problem? Greetings from Germany.
Careful using that hand crank
Fuel efficiency?
The problem with those China diesels is they're advertised as a whole bunch of different horse powers ranging from 3 to 6 HP. On all of the listings they also show them rated as a 2.2Kw engine, which translates to 3HP after some math. Over seas they use Kw for engine rating more than HP, so the Kw is more believable. hp= P(kW) / 0.745699872
Nice job supporting the communist Chinese economy.
Take a small propane trophy and put hot air in intake
How do you know it's a Chevy.... It stalled 😂
Very much considering this. That diesel is easier to start than some gas engines in cold weather lol.
When I was getting "older" (growing up), you paired the motor with a certain sized prop (" across and degrees inclined) set up with a table of horsepower per number of blades. Today may be different, but it is what I remember since I worked at Tuckers Marina on the South Side of Leroy Island in Sodus Bay, NY. There were a lot of boats from Jonboats to Cruisers and some ex-WW2 amphibs that we kept gas and oils for in the 70's (from 93 to 110 octane). Sodus Bay was the place for Kodak executives to play on back then. It was an interesting part of my life to remember.
I am looking a 36 inch wheel
You have a magnificent engine! Your explanations and commentary were very well done. And yes, I'm a little jealous! Thanks for posting.
I have a diesel powered lawn edger. It has a yanmar engine
Torque monster
No emissions, lol only in China. Go green China haha.
Cool project. I put a 10 hp Chinese diesel on my craftsman snow blower that previously had a 7.5hp snow king engine (I think). Only got a few inches of snow this year so I couldn’t really test it but it seemed to work well. Didn’t think that small engine you used would be powerful enough to move snow but guess I was wrong!
I took the original pully from the the old engine and bored it out (on a small lathe) just a little bit to a Id of 19mm
call me when you have some real deep snow
LOL. Perfect combo: Well below freezing temps, a non glowplugged diesel engine! Actually, first time I've watched a vid on these Chinese engines where one is actually placed into service. I wonder how much torque it develops. Could it be used for a 2000 watt 4 pole 1650rpm generator head?
Generator: probably. You’re within the engines RPM range. You’ve got the torque. The 2000 watts isn’t going to put a big demand on the engine.
Why is it so rich on startup? I'd expect that on a gas engine with choke but not a diesel.
Most diesels are like this. More diesel is being injected for the current rpm.
It's unburned fuel.. more prevalent on non turbo diesels, btw..
@@camo8768 Ever see a Kubota start? They don't sound or look like that when starting. The same goes for other direct fuel pump systems like this one. Heck, even most Chinese diesels don't sound like that at startup, at least, not the Yanmar copies. There's a puff or two at startup, not sounding rich like carburetor gasoline engines when choked.
@@h8troodohKubota engines, or well the smaller ones that are naturally aspirated don't release soot like that on startup, or at the very least, very little and super or turbocharged diesels, like those found on tractor trailers as well as municipal buses belch out more smoke, especially while changing gears, so it isn't a phenomenon on those engines, hate to tell you.
stretch the springs a little or take it apart and maybe the centrifugal) clutch is not expanding right
if you get oil on the clutch pads it will slip like that
This was cool to see if nothing else. I know pretty little about diesel, do you have to use a antigel to make sure the fuel doesn't lock up in the winter, that would make it not such a good fuel for a snowblower. Overall blown away by the new blowers, my neighbor has a new one and it could probably throw the snow over my 2 story house, if nothing else on the roof. I'd say it's throwing it 50 ft. I have a 93 I think it is Noma with a 5hp Techumseh and it does alright I've done a lot of work to it and I'm getting about 30ft. If I want more then it would require a newer engine like a preditor. But 30ft is perfect for me right now. It still bogs down though on those 15" packed drifts and I'm stuck in gear 1 and letting off the clutch to let the engine catch up. New engine would make a difference for me, yet I'm running it hard until I blow up the engine then I'll modify that. I'd say this just doesn't throw it far enough in my book, Looked more like 15ft max.
Predator engines are junk hands down, they can't take a beating. If your engine blows, you're much better off rebuilding the old one, checking craigslist or FB marketplace for a salvage engine, or coughing up $400 for a new Honda engine. Rule of thumb, if it's from China, don't expect it to last long.
@@lastotallyawesomebleach204 I'm from Minnesota we run our snowblowers probably an average 20 to 30 hours a year I think a predator motor on an old blower from 1993 like I have is the way to go if it were a nice Ariens different story
@@kartboarder22g17 I get where you're coming from, but there's also a good chance that you'll never have to replace the engine, those old Tecumsehs are bulletproof. I'm from Wisconsin and never blown an engine on any of my blowers, they always rusted away before the engine died.
@@lastotallyawesomebleach204 nice then I'll be good. I know it struggles in the heavy stuff. When I got it I put a Chinese carb on immediately as the steel float pin in the original was rusted in there. Did that in 2011. Carb has been excellent I have never removed the bowl. Also at the same time I replaced the fuel line, cleaned the tank filter new plug and new head gasket. Haven't touched it since. I run amsoil in it small engine and that gave me like 3-5% more power going from conventional Briggs snowblower oil to amsoil. I'll just keep pushing it it fires up on the second pull an old lady could pull start it. Only use non oxygenated gas except for the first year in 2011. So far keeps pumping.
In Canada we've got princess auto stores you could get a re-power engine, generally a honda chinesium knockoff, to replace that antiquated tecumseh junk, for under 200 bucks full warranty etc..more power, better performance, I'd go a predator 6.5hp..be perfect.
The slip clutch (centrifical) slips that bad I'd just get rid of it all together and hook it direct so the prop turns all the time. My little 2 hp Eska is made that way and it works perfectly fine.
Yeah I was just about to say. My family used to have a 2hp honda that was like this, and at lowest rpm it did not really affect the boat so yeah. Problem I guess is practicality, it would be difficult to permanently fuse this together and reattach. Just getting a new clutch/clutch pads for cheap solves the problem. Litterally just get the same ones chainsaws have
That style of small Chinese diesel is an ideal engine for a log splitter as well. You reallly need to put a decent 90 degree bend on that exhaust and directrt it out and down...you do not want to breathe diesel exhaust for a long time. Plus a decent muffler added to that will quieten it down somwhat...
Damn how did you manage to get a Formula One engine.
