proclaiming vader as the greatest character of all time says more about your literacy than about vader. dont get me wrong. solid character arc. especially once clone wars came along. iconic. beloved. mostly well written. but lets be realistic. its an archetypical character arc. not exactly mindblowingly original. anakin was quippy and had some good lines. and vader has really great voice acting and presence. but neither really had such remarkeable speeches or ideas that we would single them out. there is a difference between favorite and greatest. both are subjective, but the latter should at least have some objective elements supporting it.

Anakons story is pretty tragic, but did you ever hear the tragedy of darth plageus the wise?

I think you need to open yourself up to movies that aren't just popcorn flicks if you think star wars is the most tragic big screen story out there

At least Anakin didn’t fail and he brought peace and balance to the galaxy, and in the end he acknowledged the love he had for his son. Eren not only lived a more horrendous life, he destroyed the world, he didn’t put an end to wars which was kinda his whole purpose.

Eren was a son of war. He had no real father figure, he had no time to love amidst the apocalypse, he tragically killed both his parents, he died virgin, he had to do the most horrendous thing you can imagine when before he wanted to save the world, do “right things” as The Rumbling’s song said. Anakin at least got a rest, he grew with love, Eren was at the same time a Jew under Nazi Germany all his life, forced to be the devil and a freaking slave which failed in everything he proposed himself to do. Bro, you can’t literally do worse than that, there’s no way. They both loved the same girl all their life but Anakin was given the opportunity to experience love, Eren was too busy being a children of the war with a pure heart being appointed as the devil. Eren had a pure, brave soul. He desired simple things, he desired to be free, to love, to see the world. He hated war and was a weapon at the same time. He was a tragical hero conditioned by determinism. Anakin was kinda wicked since the Clone Wars, he was poorly raised and desired power because he was the chosen one.

Eren solos Anakin as a character. More complicated, more contradictions, more human, more tragic, but people are not ready for this conversation. Eren at the end did what he did for a mixture of insanity, despair, depression, rationality, being manipulated as a puppet, anger, and most importantly what people don’t see: love.

Even though the show Kenobi dropped the ball on so many levels, that one line is so badass and almost makes up for it “Anakin is gone, I am what remains”

Every loved one Anakin faced in battle damaged his mask and revealed and eye, but only Luke managed to take off the whole thing.

Star Wars only made episode 3 more and more tragic as time went on, especially since they released the clone wars show

I know it's popular to say "low key", but that's not low key.

As an original fan that went to Star Wars (No it was not called A New Hope back then)... This was a steaming pile of wokeness back then and I can't force myself to watch it for a 2nd time now... The only redeeming feature it has, is it was better than the following bottomless pit of steaming .... George Lucas gave me one of the best memories I ever had as a kid... Then kicked me in the balls when all I want to do is see it as I remember.. but apparently I'm not allowed because HE said so. Can't wait for Leonardo De Vinci to repaint the Monalisa with a Mickey mouse hat and a Toyota Prus on the bridge in the background.

I still like FA, the cracks were visible but it is still a fun Star Wars film. It remains my fourth favorite episode, but then LJ happened... 😵‍💫

I enjoyed it when it came out. Now that I’m nine years older I do see a lot of things that aren’t that terrific in the film but I still give it a good watch from time to time

It didn't hold up when it came out, crappy new characters and the killing off of a legacy character. Force Awakens was a knock off of A new hope. Rogue One is the only disney Star Wars movie worth a crap.

No it does not hold up. Both in both the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy, the first movie gave a plethora of information about the world surrounding the story. The force awakens gave us nothing but a bunch of gags with some action mixed in. The best part of the movie was the Millenium falcon chase with the tie fighters. Everything else was meh.

In my opinion, the force awakens is a good movie and I do see your stand poins, I do also see were you come from with kylo being a knock off vader but funny enough episode 7 kylo is my favourite due to his emotions and I get he will feel like a knock of vader because he's litrely taking influence from vader kylo has his destroyed helmate no wonder, especially in the 3rd act with kylo he grw more and I wish through out the other film he developed more toward the dark side and not to end up falling in love with rey. i loved when kylo killed snoke in episode 8 but after that he should have gone to become emporer and kill Palpitien in the fers few minutes of episode 9 to the become his full potential and emperor ren would be the big bad of it all instead they yet again vaderd him into becoming good and then dyeing I also wish kylo kept the same outfit throughout the sequels and wore his helmate more often but hey that's just me, many if there was more emotion and dioloug in other scenes many the force awakens could have been better but over all in mu opinion its a fun time with fun new characters I like it , they could have fleshed out captin phasma more and not done general hux dirty but others not much more we can do.
