Weymouth Christmas Day Harbour Swim 2023
Each year, hundreds of people turn out on Christmas Day for a dip in Weymouth Harbour. The event is organised by the Weymouth and a Portland Lions Club, and as well as raising funds for charity is a great watch.
Apologies if the footage is a little shaky - it was packed, and I had my miniature dachshund with me so couldn’t get too close to the action.

Dorchester is the county town of Dorset, England, and is a historic market town. Join us on this video as we walk through Dorchester's Wednesday Market, hop across to the Brewery Square development, walk through the town centre, and finish off with a stroll through the gardens. I'd like to apologise for the presence of my bag strap in some of these clips, sadly I didn't notice this when filming...

Weymouth is a popular staycation destination, with a regular train serv...
You should do the video again and make sure you to tie down anything loose, apart from that a great video. Steve UK

I know it well. Love it ❤❤❤
Love weymouth. Not bin for years tho. Its changed ❤️
Remember when trains used to run through the streets to the harbour.
Feel so lucky to live in Weymouth, thanks for the vid
Some brave souls .. well done everybody. There are a couple of 'festive swims' near where I live in the North East .. one on Boxing Day at Tynemouth and the other, on New Year's Day in my home town of Whitley Bay. Both are always very well supported. All the best for 2024
Really nice place to live
Looks wonderful on here , but very deceiving , the high street shops are closing one by one sad decline
Have you been to Bridgwater Carnival before? I'd love to know what you thought of it!
I went this year absolutely loved it couldn't pick a favourite cart as they were all stunning haha
They were! If I had to pick one, I think I’d probably pick the Trawlermen one, but all of them were outstanding
good video
How can I reach and stay this place ?
Not been there since I was an early teenager. But we're taking my mother to the parkdean site there in October, really looking forward to seeing the place again 👍
Great video. Lovely day. Natural sounds are best thanks. A longer drone footage would have been great ie from the west and from the east. Thank you.🙂
I think I saw myself 👍
Great video. Thank you. Looking forward to our next holiday. 🏖
Ayy i See me in this video
Loving the video, I live here, and still enjoy watching other peoples videos of Weymouth.

Been going since the mid 90s. Has changed so much in that time some for better some for worse.
Well commentated. Thoroughly enjoyable video of beautiful weymouth! Thank you.
Love weymouth, lots of family holiday memories with my mum and dad at sandsfoot and with my children and now my grandchildren, when the sun is shinning there is no where better than the esplanade.🏖🌞🌞
Went to West Bay for the first time a few years ago and loved it ❤ been back many times. Thank you for this lovely video. I've subscribed to you
Thanks - such a relaxing little place, along with nearby Bridport which has a lovely atmosphere and a great market.
Thanks, we were in Weymouth Aug. 2016. Loved it. Cheers from Nova Scotia!
Niceee view, do you Have instgram x
💜
Amazing.I'm your Fan.
Thank you so much 😀
Do you have any memories of West Bay? I'd love for you to share them in the comments
Been going there since the early 70's and was lucky enough to see the last ship unloading wood in the harbour. The river is held back by sluice gates at the back of the harbour, on spring tides these are opened at low tide to scour the main channel. Harbour Lights, Broadchurch, and The Navy Lark movie were all filmed there, also a tyre advert was filmed on one of the harbour piers. Not forgetting that Reggie Perrin went into the sea there !
I've lived in weymouth well portland next island over since I was 2, it is a beautiful place to live and lovely in the summer, great video well done 👍👌
It really is!
🤘 P R O M O S M!
Lovely video. Thank you for posting.
Thanks Dave - much appreciated
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. As simple as this walk might seem to some, it means the world to me. My grandma lived at Nothe House and I spent my entire childhood in this area and spent many, many years on this path. I now live in the US and as I watch this it means everything to me. Thank you!! x
The sea looks really clear..
Great video what are you recording with please it is so stable and clear or do you just have steady hands
Thanks Joe - it was recorded using a Insta 360 One R
Lovely video, spend a very happy 7 months there many yrs ago. Great to see your film.
Glad you enjoyed it
Good video, enjoyed watching!
Thank you very much!
This is my most favourite place to go when i was born i always went her
Mate this is a really beautiful vedio, well done there. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you!
Enjoyable video, Weymouth looks like a nice place. Just a general point, why do some of our seaside resorts have a busy main road cutting off the town from the beach? I would definately like to see that busy road closed or restricted to traffic. Just my opinion.
I saw my house no way
I am moving there soon, thanks for the video.
Luckky you,.. I wanna go there ❤❤
WHATS IT LIKE THERE NOW. U liking it there .pls
Toilets in a U.K. resort! Now that’s a novelty!
Why is the traffic elongated with your camera?
Great video but I prefer Bournemouth
Awesome video I think that the shingle beach is quieter because people with children would want a Sandy beach so the kids can make sand castles you can't do that on a shingle beach
Great video.
Nice beach we went last month in dorset
Hello just been there a day ago lovely weather and lovely sea!!
It really is! Nice to have both the atmospheres of the Harbour and the Beach
Looks lovely
Thanks Dan - I certainly think it is :)
