@@-Jesus_is_Lord....... Well, I was raised in the Baptist Church of Concordia, Ks but I didn't usually like to go to Sunday School or church. I was baptized at age 10 but didn't understand fully what was happening. I was forced to go to sunday school and church and sometimes hated it. I just wanted to be saved from hell. I didn't understand that Jesus was supposed to be my Lord or master and that I was to read his Word and follow it. I love The Bible nowadays though. So I thought I was supposed to simply obey my parents from age 10 on and just be a good person the rest of my life and I would go to heaven like everybody else. Wrong!! You can't have Jesus just as your savior without him being your Lord too. So I pursued my parents wants and my wants in life and thought everything would workout. Nope!! As a freshmen in high school thing started falling apart. I hated basketball and would fake injuries to get out of our long practices. I began crying and feeling hurt because I always thought I would reach my potential in basketball but things weren't looking good. I chose to do cross country other than football also as a freshmen as well as I was the only freshment moved up to the varsity in basketball. I was around all new people and not around my old friends. Life was great in 8th grade. I was good at sports and school and had the girls after me. I was popular. Things were different as a freshmen. I didn't do track my freshmen year because basketball totally tired me out. My sophomore year I started one game in the basketball season but that was it. I still wasn't satisfied and was really tired of it. I was mistreated. I decided towards the end of the season that I wasn't going out as a junior. Basketball had always been my sport and I remember wanting the season to be over so I didn't have to go through long dreadful practices and games where I sat on the bench knowing I was just as good as the people playing. The team was pursuing goals but I wanted out. So the summer before my junior year, I had to work a crappy job that I hated and had to work a lot also. I wasn't getting to lift weights and try to better myself. I was working my butt off getting ready for the cross country season. Also we were in the process of moving to a new house which i didn't like. I was working my hardest and getting burnt out of life. So we moved to a new house and all my routines at my old house didn't come with me to the new house. I was lost and depressed and knew something was wrong. I got OCD at the new house and made a plan to kill myself. I fell in love with a girl who forced herself into my life that I originally didn't want anything to do with. I didn't want a girlfriend and to be sidetracked from reaching my potential in sports. I worked out 3 times a day. I started doing really bad in school and hated it. My girlfriend help keep me alive but eventually it all fell apart. I wanted nothing to do with The Bible and church. I hated my parents. I started running away from home and most things like school and so on. I eventually called up an old friend who I thought might not know what I was going through and asked to borrow a gun to shoot some stuff at my grandpas farm. I was left at home on this Saturday in order to do my chores . I was by myself and I went and got the gun from friend. I was in my pajamas and no shoes, maybe socks and it was cold with snow outside. I drove my car out in the country to a where no one was around and I got out the car with the gun to kill myself, but I couldn't stop thinking, what if i don't die after I shoot myself in the head. That would suck and I would be in a worse place. I was scared of more pain which is what i wanted so bad to go away. I couldn't pull the trigger of the shotgun and I eventually shot the gun off into the sky, went home and went back to bed in the afternoon until my parents came home. Sleeping late or sleeping during the day was not allowed at our house. I was always so tired of being nagged at by my parents but it never stopped. Eventually I met with my doctor and the decision at this time was to work on my ocd at a hospital for a month. It was well needed and I wanted to get away from everything. By the way I went to another mental hospital the first time I made a plan to kill myself for 2 weeks. It was a crappy place, but the hospital I went to this time was good. I learned about my disorder and came home for prom with my girl and ending up running away from her while she was dancing one dance with her longtime boyfriend and future husband who gave her. a promise ring before we started dating. I shoulda known better. We ended up breaking up because of this and I was heartbroken and in a lot of pain along with being depressed. By the way, I was on some antidepressants and was doing everything the world would want me to do but what I needed was Gods Word. I didn't want anything to do with it. I had continued to do horrible in school my senior year and had to be given 3 chances to graduating. Amazingly I was voted for homecoming king but didn't win. I don't know why people voted for me. I was a mess and couldn't succeed at anything. Interesting fact( I brushed my teeth 4 times in my junior and senior year together) How disgusting!! That is how low I was! Well, I barely graduated and decided I wanted to let loose and party like other people were doing. I never drank or did drugs before but spent the next 4 years partying and flunking out of college. I smoked a lot of marijuana and got drunk while doing it many times. I was stupid! Finally, I knew I wasn't right with God and when I got away from a bad friend, I thought this was the time to change for the better and give my life to God. I began listening to the Bible watching lots of Tbn, a christian channel. Things began getting better and eventually I returned to my old church to get baptized for real this time. I was 22 when I stopped partying so hard and gave myself slowly but surely to God over several years until being baptized at 32. I attended my old church for mostly 2 years and eventually left. I have continued to pursue God daily through prayer, reading the Bible, watching tbn, and doing all christian things other than go to church. I love christian music. I am 38 and on disability for OCd still taking antidepressants but I know that I will be with Jesus in heaven when i pass. I will continue to fight until the day I go. I graduated from junior college sometime in the good part too. I am living the best I can and have some joy in life now. I love Jesus! Amazingly I was given a studio after meeting Vic Lucas at a church in town and he getting me started in music. He is amazing and mixes and masters my songs to this day. I am closer with my parents now then back then. I am blessed and hope to make many more christian songs. I enjoy it and all the glory goes to God! I will continue to watch tbn and be a full time follower of Jesus I hope. I enjoy christian books and try to memorize verses to help me succeed in life. Thank you so much for asking for my testimony!! Sorry it is so long!! My goal is to spread the gospel like all christians are called to do until the day I go to heaven. God bless everyone!! Also I must say that in order to be a christian you should know that God loves you , you sin and you need the only savior Jesus to save you from sin, death, hell, the grave, and the devill. Jesus came into the world and died on the cross for you and God raised him from the dead 3 days later. Believe and repent from your sins which the Bible talks about everything in. Turn from your sins and ask for forgiveness for them by turning to God and following Jesus of the Bible.
