Worst career ever! If you want to live below the poverty line and be stressed and sore all the time and too tired to cook and eat at the end of a long day of dealing with clients, then yeah choose massage therapy. It doesn't pay well and you will end up wrecking your mental and physical health. You end up taking on too many clients thinking you can make more money, but you'll never make enough to live and you're only making allied health clinics rich at the expense of your own health and sanity. Flexibility of schedule my arse...ever had an 8 client day? Ever had 6 back to back clients with no break or food. Just because getting a massage is nice doesn't mean giving one is.

I'm so debating between going to school for massage or to finish nursing and get my rn degree. and is harder for males then female cause they say everyone wants females massage therpist. Your answer will be appreciated

3 years later but thanks for this video. I'm not a massage therapist . However I am a jewelry designer and I use my hands everyday and this felt soooo good and I will add these to my self care routine. My hands are my bread winners so anything to keep them mobile and pain free is a must.

I was told after working at a chain spa like massage envy for a year or so you can make 50 something thousand dollars a year. I’m asking if it’s true that your first year at massage envy to gain experience you’ll make 39k-41-k a year and then after a year of that you move on to independent spas and at the independent spas and chiropractor office and ect u can make 50k and up? Is that true? If not how much did you or you guys make a year starting and moving into independent spas and so forth? Advice needed cuz I need to know if I should pursue this career in January.
