Last year Mississauga retired all the 2005/2006 MiWay and the TTC closed down the Scarborough RT Line that opened in March 1985 while this year the TTC retired all the OG Diesels from 2006/2007. These buses from MiWay and TTC will surely be missed after 17/18 years of service. In the memory of MiWay D40LFs 03s/05s, D40LFRs 06s, TTC's OG Diesels 7900s/8000s, and Scarborough RT March 1985 - July 2023 originally scheduled to close in November of that year. It is hard to believe that the MiWay D40LFs 03s/05s, D40LFRs 06s, and TTC's OG Diesels 7900s/8000s life span have ended. These buses entered service in the 2000s and as of last year and this year it is time for them to go out of service.
They were all 17-18 years old when they retired which is the average bus life span in Canada. In The US, most buses only last about 12 years.
