BenQ Monitor GL2460 restarts itself intermittent power issues - solved!

BenQ monitor began restarting itself throughout the day, getting progressively worse. Problem tracked down to a failing AME8815AEDS330 voltage regulator chip on the main board. IC replaced, and problems are gone. Hope it helps someone!

Faulty capacitor was responsible for shutting Sony receiver off, hope this video helps some DIY'ers! Warning: shortly after 4:00 minute mark I show a schematic from my monitor with some flickering, for those who are sensitive to that!

Thank-you. I think that you also need Dave's Fan Fail unit to replace the yellow jumper wires at the bottom left and thereby again have the Cooling Fan Fail light work. Possibly also Dave's Fan relay next to the Fan Fail unit. It is also recommended to leave the fuse box cover off to help the fuses cool.
Smooth repair bud… btw that cartridge is fine on records as long as ya keep a new clean needle installed..

I just grabbed one of these. For some reason the radio reception and rf input thru coax is terrible or non existent. Any idea what would cause it to barely be able to tune anything in?
Well done. Note that the replacement resistor ought to be a fusible type for continued protection against fire. Also, I noticed some of that glue that becomes conductive and corrosive. You may want to remove as much as you can. It's already gone a horrible dark colour so it's well on the way.
I had no idea this model had a fan in it. I wasn't aware these things were even worth fixing. They are great value new out of the box, but after this many years, you can expect anything.

I have on of these. When I turn up the volume, you can see the numbers go up, but it seems to stick on a number before going to the next higher number. Almost like the knob is slipping. Any ideas?

I still have mine! The turntable and volume control are as smooth as silk.
That is amazing. I had one in 1968 when I was twelve and I played records on it extensively. I was even permitted to bring it to my parochial grade school on the last day of scheduled classes that year. I lent my Singer portable record player to a friend who had the flu in 1970 and I didn't get it back. I was never upset over that but I've wondered for all of these years what became of it.
