    Hi Man, fantastic top top style of work of real music production!!. So, I need your help and advice. I finally found and I'm about to buy the vs 2480. I want be organized with a workflow just like you are organized in your studio. I would like to focus all my studio on the vs 2480, from recording to mixing to mastering, do everything and only there. Absolutely no use pc and other stuff. Now, the help I ask you is if you could give me a hand in setting up and setting everything up. I basically work with a number o 9 keyboard synths and an electronic drum where I play for rhythms. How to best set up all this in the vs 2480?. Have everything that comes in recorded and managed? . And then the another thing, at the programming software level is there any CD included for the vs 2480?. Because the one I'm getting tells me that there is no CD included, everything is on the vs 2480 interval system, its right?. But I see that you use a mastering suite software? This is internal machine system?. Maybe I'm asking too much but I think that even a minimum if it is feasible or not all this I would be greatuful.

    • @BigCrumb52
      @BigCrumb52 28 дней назад

      @@enginesandgo6955 thanks for taking the time to check out my video. The 2480 came out in three models. HD , CD and DVD. Sounds like you’re getting the HD model if that’s the case you will need external CD or DVD drive to make a CD. However, with the HD model, you can still record and master, just the same as you would with the other models. The reason I bought a vs2480 is just that, it is an all in one machine(recording,mixing,mastering). I preferred hands on instead of point and click or drag and drop(the 2480 does both). As for setting it up, I would plug your rhythm machine into whatever tracks you prefer(1-24) and the same for your synthesizers. Once you’re happy with the recording and the mix, the mastering is just as easy…just enter the mastering room function to produce a Red Book standard recording. Check out my mastering room video for more information on that. Hope this helps you out. If you need any more information or if there’s anything else I might be able to help you out on just comment and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

      @@BigCrumb52 Thank you for your kindness and immediate response. The discussion seems cle ar enough to me, thank you for your help and clarification. I wanted to ask you this other thing: It is not clear to me how I should set up and enter my 9 synthesizers. Can I do it with the channels of the vs2480? Can I enter all 9?. What settings and configuration should I use to have all 9 synthesizers connected to the vs2480 and ready immediately to play and record?

    • @BigCrumb52
      @BigCrumb52 27 дней назад

      @@enginesandgo6955 Hi, you can plug your synthesizers into tracks 1 through 9 using a stereo quarter inch cable. You can also link the tracks(1&2,3&4…) and use 2 mono quarter inch cables, however, if you do it this way you will need to use an expansion unit to add more input jacks. I’m using a Roland SI-24(connected through the R bus) in order to add more inputs so I can mic my acoustic drums, and have my keyboards guitar and bass on designated tracks. Another thing that’s nice about the 2480 is the internal routing, you can designate any input to any track by simply pressing a button and turning a dial. I posted another video that’s a quick flyover of my system which may give you a better idea of what the heck I’m talking about. I appreciate your questions. It’s good to talk to people with my same interest. Feel free to ask more, if I don’t know I’ll try to figure it out.👍🏽

    Hi, how is it to use a hardware sequencer for recording? Does it mean you need MIDI cables connecting equipment to it, in addition to audio cables going into a mixer for recording? is there some simpler way (with less cables) for using a hard seq?

    • @BigCrumb52
      @BigCrumb52 2 месяца назад

      Hi, to answer your question…, yes you need midi cables to sync the devices and audio cables to receive the sound. So you will need one midi cable and one sound cable,( either stereo or mono) for each device. You can use less recording tracks if you premix the devices then send them to one or two recording tracks(mono/stereo) but once recorded you can’t separate them. In my set up I have each drum machine set to their designated track, so even after recording, I could fade each track in and out.

      @@edwallace3704 you should be able to alter the previous patterns by selecting the pattern you wish to alter then inter “pattern write” mode.

      @BigCrumb52 if you checkout TR 707 Twitch showcase video and forward 12.58 mins in he shows how to do it but it's not very clear , if you did one of your videos with a close up it would be awesome and I'm sure alot of 707 users would appreciate it and it watch it , I managed to do it yesterday messing around but , it was super frustrating

      @@edwallace3704 I watched the video and it looks like he programmed the snare on every step of the pattern, then used to slide level to bring it in and out to emphasize the snare buildup.

    How do you get it just to play pattern 1 to 4 for example and nothing else 🤔 , I've got a similar pattern and it allows me to tap the buttons and loops but as soon as I let number 4 play which is a factory present similar to my beat it then just carries on going on and on through the factory presets

      First make sure you’re in “pattern play” mode then press and hold your first pattern then press the ending pattern all the pattern lights in between should light up. They should loop once you press play.
