If you want ideas this is the video to watch. Every style and shape. Tote bags and little bags. All these are do-able, too, tho some for experienced sewists. From simple to sophisticated.

These are some VERY high-end looking bags. I just donated about 100lbs of used denim. I thought my crafty days were over but the inspiration here is giving me all kinds of ideas. I made a lot of denim bags back in the day. And I DID save some scraps from a recent denim project that's too heavyweight for most garments. It would be great for bags. I've got some tidbits of leather that would work for trim and accents. Bits of cotton lace and braid. I perfected purse pockerty decades ago. Always a zipper closure unless the bag and it's specific use calls for a different closure. Made to last forever and machine wash and dry. I REALLY loved making bags! 1970s and early 80s. The materials I would use today that go between the outside and the lining are much more effective and user friendly today. In fact, I helped a new sewist get to know her new machine and I was soooo impressed with how user friendly it was! Even the threading diagrams were printed right on the machine itself. An experienced sewist with an old machine would have a BLAST with a new machine! No more zigzagging to finish seams, you have a stitch that looks better. Stretch fabric? Any stretch stitched to perfection! So easy to use it was like they thought of everything. Made me pretty envious when I went in and cranked up my 50 yo Kenmore. Or Mom's 80(?) yo Kenmore. I put Mom's thru the paces until I got my own for hs graduation. Then I got a bigger one. Oh, what I could do with a brand new machine and old denim! All the fancy stitches coming out to play!
