thank you I live in senior development and am going to make these for men and women to donate
Nice looking pads, 😊🎉. I like to sew a seam, vertical or horizontal,,,instead of shown..,😊
I'd love to see what you do!
Nice concept. But why cut off the entire back just to sew it back on ? Just cut out the unwanted section, open seams1 inch to roll down 1/2 “ x 2 & stitch. Much
Hello and thanks for your comment. You are cutting off the back of the shirt under the yoke and then sewing it on as a backing to the front of the shirt. The point of this item is to be an adult bib. In order to function in this way it must be thicker than 1 layer of shirting. Having it be just the single layer of flannel shirt isn't strong enough to do what our charity partners need. Watch at 2:01 to see where to cut off the back of the shirt. Then watch at 3:05 when Carol attaches the cut off back of the shirt to the front. It is important that any Dignity Bib has two layers and is thick enough to protect the clothing of the person wearing it. I hope this clears up why we take the time to make it 2 layers. 😀
Love the watercolor blocks. I see this is 5 months ago. Did you shoot another video after you quilted it? I'd love to see it finished.
how do I get the pattern for Pads by Mary Dredge
Rectangles 41/2” x 2 1/2” ?? and the middle square 4 1/2”??? I love this.
They never come back and answer the questions
Wow what a lot of information for these fidget mats. I've not heard of them before. Maybe after sewing my Christmas items, I'll give it a go. Then contact you to see what to do with anything I make after your approval on the mats. Thank you for the tutorial. So very interesting. Kathleen.
Thank you for this tutorial. It was straightforward and easy to follow. I have fabrics ready to make 15 scarfs (five fabric sets times three scarves per fabric set).
Great to see how it's done. Yarn and hook are ready to go
Very good video!!
Such clear instruction!
Great video tutorial!!
Where do you get the pattern Carol was holding?
The pattern is by Luna Wolf; She took her blog down, but gave us permission to host it on our website here: www.craftingchange.org/theyonkofaproject; If you are wanting the 3D templates for that pattern, our friends at Adam & Carolyn Creates on Etsy make them here: adamandcarolyncreate.etsy.com. You can buy the full set, but the 9" one is the most useful!

I would love to see a tutorial making a scrub cap using elastic at the back. No ties. Please help.
Sorry, we don't have a pattern with elastic because our medical advisor requested ties because elastic can not be autoclaved. During the height of the pandemic, a lot of this type of PPE was getting sterilized that way. You likely could play with this pattern and with only a slight modification across the back, use elastic.
@@CraftingChange Thank you for your response.
The end looks ugly tho
I agree, perhaps it wasn't the best serge there on our video, we got a bit anxious to share this great tip. We are volunteers at a nonprofit, not professionals. But generally speaking, when you flip your fabric and you sew back that 2nd time, it will be just as close to your fabric and look great. 99% of the time ours does too!
Oooo, love this tip! Thank you
I've been doing that for years. showed customers that when teaching serger classes
Such a great tip! So glad to know folks learning on their new machines know from the start!
That's so cool ! Good tip thanks!
OH MY GOSH! Sewing just got a bit easier!
Love this!!!!
Oh my god!!! Im doing this immediately!!!! I love ut!!! I have never tucked my serged ends in but this will make me start
It's great to secure them in some way. This is a really fast way to do it!
Love your instructions! I tried #2 on my “dog food” bag since I recycle feed bags! However, the box corner seems introverted; it does not look like yours…. obviously the dimensions of my bag are different, and I did the folding of the sides at 2 inches. and sewed the bottom. !Also, I believe it’s number three where you cut your corners to make the box. what dimensions would I use on these big bags that I’m doing? I just don’t know how to compensate for different sizes. Thank you so much and I hope to hear back from you soon so I can finish these bags with your method!😊
With the stiffer fabric of a feed bag, I would do #4. What are the dimensions of your feed bags? Crafting Change does a lot with feed bags as one of our charity partners loves them, so we sew and donate a lot of them. Ours are usually about 21-22" tall or so. For our feed bags, it is easiest to do method 4 since the fabric is slippery. Box it with the triangle and do 4". After you have sewn the straight line, you can cut off the extra if you like. I prefer to just let the tabs remain on the inside, or you can also simply tack them down. The larger the square, the wider the bottom will be. So to have a taller, narrower bag, cut it at 3 1/2". For a shorter, but wider bottom bag, cut it at 5". It is really your preference! Hope that helps. Would love to see a picture of your finished bags.
@@CraftingChange thank you so much! I will try this again and send you a picture! I’m donating them to our food pantry.
Why didn’t I think of that? Great idea!!
