In a weird sense, I feel like Fletcher isn’t angry at the folder getting lost but at Tanner’s lack of responsibility. Fletcher seemed more disappointed at the way Tanner was throwing Neiman under the bus. Notice how much of his ire is towards Tanner and not Neiman.

I played in school, and there was never a "backup drummer" ... never. Clem DeRosa led a band that went to Johnny Carson. There wasn't a 'backup drummer'. There are no 'backup' horns... one base player. I do enjoy the movie, but it is hardly realistic.

I liked this movie when I first watched it, but after a couple of views I think it’s about as dumb as “no country for old men” … like the entire premise is J.R.R. Simmons heard a story about a guy throwing a cymbal at another guy for making a mistake and that scared the guy into practicing a little more and so he built his entire life and philosophy around that one story is absolutely idiotic and unbelievable. And the whole idea that he could just act this way without the school getting involved or the police getting involved is laughable. You can do a lot with tenure but you can’t physically abuse and assault your students. The more you think about the movie the more it falls apart. Oh and the relationship with the girl that just like never developed into anything and had no point being in the movie. Like, man, dumb movie. Well filmed, well acted, but dumb.

The way everyone in the band was such an asshole really shows the impact Fletcher had. He all turned them into mean spirited people who only cared about being perfect musicians, and didn’t give a shit how they treated people
