Wonder if my kittie is putting herself in my bed to watch CAT tv and relax the few times I have to go out and do errands.

When I went to get my kittie after her 6 night adventure by herself outside 1 year ago, her eyes were wide open when she was in her catch crate as she saw me come to get her. Man was this cat daddy relieved.

Both my kittie and I have found out about each other that both of us may get cranky if our sleep is being disturbed.

How about yoghurt instead of milk as a treat?

my kitten has this toy mouse that she will not go anywhere without she also backed her but up to my housemate's ear and well I think she peed into it and she is only 4 months old

I’ve taken him month-long trip all of May, I’m going on another trip now for 8 days. This is actually painful for me. I hate leaving my babies. When I was gone for a month, I boarded them, I didn’t like the situation but I had no choice. It’s all we have. I was gone last year for three weeks. I was supposed to be gone longer, but I couldn’t handle it and I was worried about them. My landlord was taking care of them, feeding them and making sure they had water. I live a rented house on a farm. I’m sure, from the reaction my Lux had, when I came back from the trip I was gone for three weeks. He missed me very much, for almost a full week he was a Velcro cat. I have four cats, Mama couldn’t care less as long as she has food. She had been abandoned, but she was still young, was told by my neighbors. She proceeded to leave another, probably 10 years or more on the streets. Then she adopted me. I took care of her teeth, other medical needs, and make sure she had the best of care during her pregnancy. as soon as it was possible and safe, I had her Spade. The prevailing attitude locally is the cats are mousers, aloof, loaners, and don’t care about people. It’s a waste of breath to tell people this. I do have one lady from seeing my example, and how my cats respond, no longer thinks of them that way….. mostly. Still working in progress. Trying to convince her that money should be spent on Veterinarian costs and feeding a cat is important has not quite gotten through. PS; every vet I have gone to has told me I have the nicest cats. That is not an accident.

When I was young we had a cat and she loved to go out into the field behind our house and hunt.

I always can tell who is a cat person and who is not. For example: I dont "own" cats - i live among two cats. There are people who buy a cat because its a good idea - but what if the person is not a cat person? I did not know that i was a cat person until i realized that all cats like me. Like this one time i walked into an appartment and the cat was under the bed, i said right away: "that cat is been treated in a wrong way" and i was right. The previous "owner" of one of the cats living with me said that this cat is affraid of men. I said "Nope, she is affraid of A man" and as soon as the "ex- owner" left the cat came and slept on my chest. The cat saw right away that she has nothing to fear and no one bothers her like if she is sleeping on the couch my human quests can seat on a chair because the cat lives in this house - my human quests dont.

I think the technical term for elevating their behinds when tickled is "kitty butt jack"

Interesting that some of the video shots show puppies instead of cats... I have a long history with both species, and love them both. But I've had more cats than dogs, and more years of love with my cats... I have one special dog at present and I wouldn't want to chose today 🙂 Perhaps a dog does more for your fitness and humor (they are hilarious) and a cat does more for your heart and soul (they are more comforting).

I guess since they stick to me like glue since I’m always hot as a furnace.

My cat might bite me but if i say ouch she will give me a kiss which still hurts but i know its her way of saying sorry

It’s good to have two cats so that they have a companion when you’re not home. But it’s best if they’re siblings cause a new cat can make your first one get jealous. I’ve had that problem before.

Another issue with scented litter is some cats have reactions to chemicals in the scent. We foster cats and sometimes get supplies from the adoption agency including litter and often its scented. We've had cats that appear to come down with a respiratory infection but it's just that scented litter. Get them away from that and in a day or two they're fine again. So now we never use scented litter. It really doesn't help anyway and it's not worth the chance of cats having troubles with it.

My cat doesn't just follow me to the bathroom. He stops whatever he's doing to come find me in the bathroom. He could behind a door in another room, and as soon as I sit down, there he is.

That hunting meow I've heard many times when my cat plays with her toy mouse. She'll even chase it--pretending it's alive! 😊

I once adopted a stray cat who was very friendly but had lifelong medical issues. There was a time when I needed to give her antibiotics and she really didn't like it, but the medicine was necessary. So I quickly gave her the antibiotics and let her run off, thinking she would be relieved to get away. After a few times she became afraid of me and would cry when I had to get her. So I got the idea that instead of letting her run away, I would give the medicine and hold onto her, pet her and talk to her to try to calm her down so that she might understand that I wasn't trying to punish her. That seemed to work. She still didn't like any medicine and mildly complained but appeared to be unafraid of me when I needed to give it to her. Even though there were several episodes in her life when I needed to give her medicine, she was always one of the sweetest huggy cats that I've ever known.

My cat was a mama's boy. Completely devoted to me. One day My Mother-in-Law borrowed one of my sweaters. Up to this point, my cat was friendly to her as he was to everyone. She picked him up while wearing my sweater. he paused for a moment, then started growling and hissing at her, and struggling to get away. From that day onward, every time she came into the house, he would growl and hiss at her, and always put himself between me and her. Near as we can tell it was someone smelling like me who wasn't me, and that completely shattered his trust in her. He KNEW she had to be up to no good. As for Scaring cats, well that depends upon the cat's personality. I had one and it was our game, trying to sneak up on each other. IF i gave him a good scare, he would prance around afterwards, tail straight up and vibrating. he would do the same thing if he was successful in sneaking up on me. Cat laughter I suppose. We never got tired of that game. It was an extension of Mother teaching Kitten to hunt and stalk. It's the same as chasing. I think the key is, the game has to go both ways.You chase them, they chase you.

They have bionic senses on steroids

I would never dress up my cat or scare them. I see the videos about people think its funny when a cat gets tangled in a bag and is running trying to escape. One my cats, as a kitten, got tangled in the handle of a bag and as she ran all over the house, the handle tore her toe open and she had to have surgery. I no longer allow these type of bags accessible to my cats. It is NOT funny!

My boy was bottle fed by my best friend. He would stretch out instead of kneading. He still does that when I enter a room or get home. He actually loves his belly scratches. Oh, and he has the zoomies right now. I call it his parkour.

My sweet senior fur baby Izzie does ALL of the above. In fact she’s purring on me right now.

My cat usually brings me living “presents” like mice and snakes. I genuinely think he thinks of it as a toy he’s inviting me to play with. He usually shows no intention of killing and eating it as we both chase it around the house. Luckily, I have a play mat that has hiding places for them now so I can just take it back outside

My Siammes watches me mow my yard

We have 2 cats a mother and daughter. They sleep most of the day but because they are from a breed that is not suited to go outside they are indoor cats. They have a 1 hour cat play before bed but aren't always that active especially in the hot summers they don't feel to move around much. However, at night they sleep as well. So what happens to all that energy?

My 10 year old cat that I’ve had for three years has started coming about 2am, mewing and dragging her favorite toy, which she leaves on the floor by the bed. Then she jumps up and purrs as she sleeps next to me. Sometimes she nips at my fingers to get me to pet her. This cat had been at a rescue sanctuary for five years before I adopted her. I renamed her Shadow, and she learned her new name quickly.

My kitty boy crossed over in 2023. He was a free-range fanatic, took on 6' fences from a standing leap, and loved making biscuits on my body. I never trimmed his claws. Never needed to trim them. My sweetie was a master of how much he could flex those HALF INCH LONG claws to just barely prickle my skin through whatever clothes and/ or bedding lay between my skin and his need to make biscuits. I've never known any other housecat with claws so long... In his final weeks (14 healthy years), he finally shook off the last bit of his first human not wanting kitty cuddles (?!?). The main sign of this was his desire for cuddles, but being unwilling to spend time on your lap. His first human taught him that getting on a lap meant 1-2 pets, then being shoved off the lap. In his last few weeks, he would sit or stand on the floor in front of me, sometimes trilling a question at me, always looking up wistfully. I'd pat my chest and thighs invitingly, and if that didn't convince him, I'd gently lift him up and snuggle him. Once he gained the confidence, a few pats and spoken invitations were enough to get him up. Then he'd stand forepaws on my left knee, hind paws on my right. No amount of pets and loves was enough, he would stand there until I not only wrapped my arms around him and held him close, I needed to lay my head on his back. He first belonged to my neighbor, who found him around the time my girl kitty was born. He still needed to be fed milk. When my girl was about 6mo old, she adopted me. There is no other way to put it. Total lovebug, slept with me from the start. When both cats were about 2 years old, the neighbor was evicted, and I took in my sweet kitty boy. As of July 2024, my girl kitty is still strong and healthy, regularly caging grooming and cuddles from me far more than when my needy boy was still with us. She just turned 15 years old.
