Regretfully, Melinda Ledbetter Wilson died in 2024. While she wasn't a musician, she played a significant role in helping Brian to establish himself as a solo artist.

Landy literally saved Brian's life and was responsible for his most healthy and creative periods post 1970, Brian has never again been as lucid, creative and healthy as he was 75-77 and 84-89. The story of Landy as purely evil is not true, and the real story of what happened is much more complex. What we can be sure of is Landy saved Brian's life twice, and that Landy also 100% crossed moral lines for his own gain, and he also apparently crossed some legal lines, though not to the point of being locked up. Melinda was like a gift from heaven for Brian, finally someone that really cared for him in a healthy way, its very sad to read of her passing, i hope Brians surrounded by good people now and hes living as good a life as is possible for him now.

I hope Brian finds joy in his children. He has no other family left. He seems to need a take charge person in his life, which Melinda was, overly so at times. I just discovered his daughters Carnie and Wendy have asked a judge to put Brian into conservatorship. Well done girls. Looking after dad ❤❤

God Bless you Brian. As Larry said,," You are an institution ". I wonder if the newest treatment they have could help get rid of voices. The latest is a non invasive ultrasound beam pinpoint directed to a minute part of the brain. So far they`ve only used it for curing addictions,but if directed toward a different area?????

Carl and the Passions was, indeed, a “surprise”… it was incredibly weak without much ‘Brian-involvement’.

Those of us that suffer depression don’t want to get high we want to feel normal. I am 77, and have suffered with depression since I was a child. Mine was genetic…my dad suffered too! I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. There are times I wake up, and watch happy people and wonder what it feels like. I have faith, I have a loving hubby of 58 yrs, so I am luckier than some, and I thank God everyday for life! 😊

Brian's evaluation of Rubber Soul as like collection of Beatle folk songs is same as I felt: we both had the American pressing, which was very different than English. Less rock sound. The one time I liked the US version better: it seemed to be more of a "whole" than a "mix" of different styles

I had this record in 1976 or 1977 and at the time it was a newer album now it's like 47 years ago now

I can imagine that he would be jealous. A few years ago, I saw Brian in concert. The venue was half empty, but Bruce Springsteen was there, back stage. When he walked onto the stage to join Brian, it was a moment to remember. Case in point: show up and you'll be rewarded.

Brian Wilson is so multifaceted. His mental health issues have been in the forefront for so long but he created so much amazing music and has always had a great attitude about things.

He sounds like a child. Really messed himself up with drugs and untreated mental illness as well as that shit f,up Dr who really screwed him up

Scotland is the home of many inventions and although McCartney was from Liverpool and Wilson from America, their surnames are Scottish so we Scots are vicariously taking credit for the invention of their original music.

He may have been jealous of the Beatles, but Paul said that Brian was "great genius" and that it was Brian who inspired him on Sgt Pepper.

Brian has nothing to be jealous about, or apologize for. The Beach Boys' music has stood the test of time. He's weathered many a personal storm and came out fine.
