Welcome to the SplatFest to end all SplatFests in Splatoon 3, the Grand Festival! Or GrandFest for short. Either way, the main event is here! Let’s take a look at the new venue first. You won’t be able to return to any of the three cities during the event. Though, you can access the Order Sector for Side Order if you want. Each of the three idol groups will rotate performances across three different stages. So, feel free to check them all out when you need a break from the action. The quick access menu works the same as it always did. There is also a bus that interacting with will bring up that same menu. Queuing a match will bring you to the same lobby you’re used to as well. As for the matches themselves, Tricolor is open from the beginning. The stages thus far will rotate out every rotation with the normal two stages with a brand new Tricolor map being added for the last 24 hours, which was also the site of the Grand Big Run. Matches this session were pretty even. One thing I really like so far is that every SplatFest theme from all three games are in queue for matches, including the Now or Never variations, and the victory themes! You may also notice themes from all the story modes in the set list at the venue as well! We’ll continue on through the weekend! This event will be covered in 6 parts with 60 matches total as opposed to the traditional 4 parts with at least 40. Part 2 next!

It’s time for our showdown with Hooktail! For starters, I really like the lighting change in this version for the introduction to the battle! Before going in, make sure you have the Attack FX G badge equipped for the frog effect, which will lower Hooktail’s defenses. It is possible to do this fight without it, I think, but it’s just much harder. It seems you can’t reflect damage back on Hooktail with superguards, which is interesting. Hooktail has 20 HP, but will reset to 10 after depleting her health once by eating some members of the audience. Finishing off Hooktail will free both Koops’s father and our first Crystal Star, bringing an end to Chapter 1! I also have to say that I love the new Petalburg music after beating Hooktail. After each chapter, we’ll be checking in on Peach, at the X-Naut base, and Bowser’s exploits. I’ll be showing these end of chapter segments in the episode we finish a chapter. Next time, we head back for the Thousand-Year Door and make preparations for Chapter 2!

And here’s where one of the changes between this version and the original they technically corrected/fixed: Hooktail’s gender. In the original during this, Hooktail was called a he whole in Chapter 8, it was revealed that Hooktail’s a she by Gloomtail. In this version, they fixed it from the start, which is nice note they fixed, and this is to provide clarity for those who never played the game before.

We now continue exploring Hooktail’s Castle! We’ll now need a few keys to progress, so that will be the main focus this time. There are also several collectibles to find, including a few Star Pieces in some easy to miss areas. Climbing the staircase near where we started this time, you’ll see a Star Piece we can’t reach from this room. We’ll have to go back to the previous room and ride the purple block up to reach an alcove with access to the balcony with the Star Piece. There’s also another one on a ledge outside the videos in the next room, so be sure to get that before moving on. Another narrow ledge holds one near a paper plane platform that will allow access to the next door on a ledge you can’t reach otherwise. Another collectible, Shine Sprites, also become available at this point. We’ll look into what each of these do at a later time. In our search for keys, we come across the thief Ms. Mowz. This is certainly not the last we’ll see of her. As much as I would have liked to sneak in another level up, we barely missed it as we reach the door to Hooktail’s lair. I think we should still be fine as we are. Though, a little more FP would have been nice. Next time, we take on Hooktail!

Welcome back to more Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door! We now make our way into Hooktail’s Castle! Before we get too far, the broken bridge has a few small islands beneath it. You can jump across and use Koops to get an HP Plus badge. Great if you wanted to focus more on FP and BP at this point in the game. This is also our first time using Koops in battle. His default attack took me a bit to execute, but I got decent at it by the end. Odd that his stronger attack is easier to use. Speaking of leveling up, we do so relatively soon after we take on a few Dull Bones and a Red Bones. I decided to take HP again to bring Mario up to 20. We’ll now focus more on FP and BP for a bit. One thing to note about flying enemies, since I made this mistake before realizing it, Paragoombas and Koopa Paratroopas revert back to their non-flying variants once attacked, so remember to get their Tattle log entries before attacking them. Hooktail’s Castle requires a number of different keys to get around, so be on the lookout for those. We also come across another black chest with another “cursed” ability that will allow us to access small crevices. We’ll need this soon afterward to get an important badge for the upcoming battle against Hooktail. We wrap up at the grand staircase. We’ll proceed up next time!

The Grand Big Run has concluded! As mentioned before, results are presented separately as SplatFests normally are. Over 1.5 billion golden eggs collected in total is very impressive! We also nearly reached Eggsecutive VP 300 for the first time! The only disappointing thing was we still have yet to beat a Triumvirate despite coming so close once. The last session was subpar compared to the rest, which didn’t allow for one of the Triumvirate attempts I was hoping to have. Still, the extra scales we got were awesome and help toward some of the Salmon Run rewards. Regardless, GrandFest begins next time!

The finale of the Salmonid invasion of the Grand Splatlands Bowl, site of the up coming Grand Festival! Not exactly a stellar end, however. Didn’t exactly have the best groups this session and only got the Triumvirate we were overdue for in the previous session. Regardless, we’re well within the threshold for the silver decoration and we have a collective total of over a billion eggs! With the addition of a cumulative golden egg counter, results will come out a couple hours after the end of the event just as SplatFests do and how Big Run used to be before the the scoring change. Since there are extra scales involved in those rewards, we’ll redeem those next time when we check in for the results.

The Grand Big Run rages on at the Grand Splatlands Bowl! In total, we have reached over a billion eggs! The display board will not show more than 999,999,999, but each extra million eggs collected will be more scales earned at the end. In other news, we have also reached and exceeded Eggsecutive VP 200 for the first time in a Big Run! Unfortunately, there aren’t any badges for reaching these thresholds during a Big Run like in normal Salmon Run. Oddly enough, we didn’t get a Triumvirate wave this session despite having a full Salmonometer for the last two shifts. As a result, we will try to battle the Triumvirate twice during the final session.

Part 2 of the Big Run at the Grand Splatlands Bowl! In between parts, the overall quota has exceeded the new benchmark of 800,000,000! The next goal to reach in total will be 900,000,000. We will likely reach it and beyond by the time we return for Part 3. Anyway, as a result of battling another Triumvirate early in the episode, we continue on so that we can end with another. The first Triumvirate this session went really well! We managed to take down Cohozuna and Horrorboros, but couldn’t quite finish off Megalodontia. Had we not been three crew members down at the time, we could have gotten it. Last one didn’t go quite as well, but still wasn’t bad. I think we could be a Triumvirate during the second half. Next time, we continue!

  • @LinkMountaineer
    @LinkMountaineer 5 дней назад

Welcome to the biggest Big Run yet! A Salmonid invasion of the GrandFest venue, the Grand Splatlands Bowl! There are a few changes to this Big Run before we even get to the stage itself. First off, the golden egg thresholds for the decoration you get at the end are higher than usual. There’s also an overall quota from the contributions of ALL players at 700,000,000! This may seem daunting, but this quota was already reached before we even started! This is a collective quota from all participants of the Big Run and will result in rewards of extra scales at the end. As for the stage itself, the GrandFest venue makes for the most chaotic one yet! There are special launchers similar to what Big Shots use with a unique fireworks effect scattered across the stage. Goldies will also make an appearance during regular waves and function the same way they do in fog waves. Combined, these make collecting a lot of eggs a lot easier. On top of all that, the usual Big Run themes got remixed. No expense was forgone here! Topped off with a solid Triumvirate attempt at the end of the segment, it could be possible to beat one during this event! We’ll see what happens as we continue!

With the surface of Eldin Canyon now fully explored, we return to the Depths and explore what we didn’t get to on the way to the Fire Temple. This involves two Lightroots north of the Fire Temple and three south of the chasm from Death Mountain near the foothills. We begin from a Lightroot on the Akkala Depths side and proceed west. We first come to a Yiga base we haven’t yet dealt with, so we’ll do so now. I don’t think there are too many of these left. We then head for the Eldin Dark Skeleton, taking on a Flux Construct along the way, where we find the first piece of the Wild armor, the Trousers of the Wild! Watch out for the enemies, including Gloom Spawn on the way to the nearby Lightroot. Oddly enough, this game considers the Eldin Great Skeleton as part of another region, so we’ll come back for that area later. Once done, we head for the battles against Marbled Gohma in the Depths! Unlike the instances of Colgera, Mucktorock, and Queen Gibdo here, Marbled Gohma has no instances in the Depths region corresponding to the temple where it was originally fought. This is likely the result of the Fire Temple being located in the Depths anyway. I found Marbled Gohma much easier in the Depths. The arenas don’t have ceilings, so Gohma won’t have that aspect of its original battle in the Fire Temple. Before we wrap up, there’s a small correction I need to make. I’ve tried to be incredibly careful as far as making sure all Koroks, shrines, caves, and wells are all done on a region by region basis. However, I noticed my running total of Koroks was off by one while finishing up Eldin Canyon. As you might guess, tracking down a Korok you missed with the map now a conglomerated mess was really hard to do, but I found it. In Lindor’s Brow, yes, the third region we did way back in the beginning of the game, there’s part of the ridge bordering Tanagar Canyon with a Lynel near it. Certainly they wouldn’t put a Korok in sight of a Lynel, right? Well, right off that cliff is a small ridge and that’s where it was. I’m glad we’re caught up now, but I’m annoyed I missed that as careful as I was trying to be. Also, you may also have noticed I didn’t go add more Energy Cells like I normally do after defeating the bosses in the Depths. I’m two Large Crystallized Charges worth shy of a second full battery and the way upgrades work in this game would give me an incomplete battery. So, I’d rather wait until I can remedy that and not make this episode unnecessarily long. Anyway, next time, we make our way to our final region, the Thyphlo Ruins!

Welcome back to more of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! We now wrap up exploration of the Eldin Canyon region as well as check out Mine-Cart Land, the new attraction set up by YunoboCo! First off, we return to the Shadow Hamlet Ruins because I missed a well here. Contrary to other wells, this one is volcanic! So, remember your volcanic gear! There’s a West Restaurant Cave alongside the East, which we’ve been to before to complete a quest, so we backtrack to get the Bubbulfrog and then return to the Southern Mine. There’s a another cave in the area with the same name and this is the site of Mine-Cart Land. Three Gorons you may recognize if you played BotW run the attraction. Before speaking to them, we head into the cave for its Bubbulfrog. Each of the Goron brothers has a mine-cart target challenge to complete, each with increasing difficulty, with the final course relocated to the Death Mountain rail system. You’ll get the Goron Fabric for a paraglider option upon completing all three courses. Once done, we set out to find the remaining Koroks in the region as well as the last cave, containing the last Eldin Canyon shrine, in the Isle of Rebac Gallery. Keeeping with the mine cart theme, you’ll have to to change tracks to gain access to the alcove with the shrine. We wrap up by warping back to the Depths. Next time, we activate the remaining Lightroots in the Eldin Canyon Depths and clear out the remaining traces of Marbled Gohma! We’ll also correct a little mistake I made a long time ago…

Welcome back to more Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door! We now continue our search for the Sun and Moon Stones to open the way to Hooktail’s Castle! Starting off with a game show? No matter the Paper Mario game, these show up in some form. This one is standard trivia for the most part. The harder questions are usually the obscure prices of items in shops or if you embarrassingly forget a character’s name. Anyway, getting past that gains us entry into the underground of Shhwonk Fortress where Fuzzies await. These enemies can steal your HP. You can prevent this with guarding. I’ve starting getting better with the timing for superguarding, but I’m still not very consistent with it. While Fuzzy fighting, we reach our second level up and I decided to go for HP. This play through, I’m going to try to keep my HP on par with the boss of the chapter as best I can. I think the bosses of both Chapters 1 and 2 have 20 HP, so that’ll be my benchmark before focusing more on BP, since we’re starting to come across more badges, and FP, so I’m not having to heal that constantly. Before leaving, a Gold Fuzzy ambushes us and will have to be dealt with. The hardest part of this battle is the Fuzzy Horde since it attacks consecutively. I just got annoyed with it and just used items on it. With the stones in hand, we head back to Petalburg. Upon exiting on the Hooktail’s Castle side, we meet up with Koops who now joins as a partner! Koops will be really helpful for activating switches, including the ones we need to access Hooktail’s Castle. You’ll need to hold Koops in place with X and release it while you hit the other simultaneously. We wrap up at the entrance of the castle. Next time, we begin exploring Hooktail’s Castle!

We notice a monster-control crew regiment up ahead as we wrapped up last time, so we’ll begin with checking in on them. This is Toren’s squad and they are heading toward a monster den in the area. This counts as a cave, so don’t forget to get the Bubbulfrog in the alcove above after getting rid of the monsters. As for the monsters themselves, your biggest threat is the silver Moblin. Try to stun lock it with a two handed weapon if you can. Toren’s squad will then head for the bridge over Akkala Span, so we head that way once done with the cave. We tried battling the monsters here once before, but ended up not being able to finish them off as some had fallen into a ruined section of the bridge instead of the ground below and as a result, didn’t sustain enough fall damage to finish off. No problems this time around, however. Once done in Akkala, we warp back to the shrine we completed last time and head to the northernmost reaches of Eldin. To the west is Eldin’s Flank, which leads to the Eldin Great Skeleton. In this game, it’s considered in another region, the last one we’ve yet to visit, so we’ll hold off on that for now. To the east is the towering Gut Check Rock. We had a climbing challenge for a shrine in Breath of the Wild, but now, not much remains here except a Korok and a chest with a silver rupee. It’s high elevation is a great spot for a Travel Medallion for exploring the surrounding area. There is still a shrine in the area, though it’s on ground level near some hot springs. This is another Proving Grounds, but a fun one as the recommended way to do it is to crush the support pillars so the stone slabs above fall and defeat the Constructs. Most of them you can dunk into the pool in the center. Very humorous, I must admit. We wrap up by warping back to the shrine on the east side of Death Mountain. Next time, we begin cleaning up what’s left in terms of shrines, Koroks, caves, and wells in Eldin Canyon!

Welcome back to more of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! With the Fire Temple complete and the marbled rock roast removed, we find ourselves back in Goron City. Yunobo and Bludo have an interesting tale to share, so now we investigate as we continue our search for Koroks and shrines. On the north side of Death Mountain, you may recall two hot springs in the shape of lizards. Following where the lower one faces, we come to a cave entrance, the Lizard’s Burrow. Inside is the usual Bubbulfrog and a chest containing the Vah Rudania Divine Helm! We now have all four Divine Beast helms and all four Sates awakened! Now I can show something cool that I actually learned very recently as we’ve never tried on the Divine helms yet. Once worn, the respective Sage will also don their respective Sage helmet reminiscent of their respective Divine Beast! I find this such a cool detail! We then take on a new shrine near by where we align a path upward. Afterward, we return to Goron City to report our findings to Yunobo and Bludo, redeem our next Heart Container, and check in on the Goron forge. We can now make the Boulder Breaker, the Champion weapon of Daruk! This completes our collection of Champion weapons! Lastly, I noticed a Stalnox on the way to the Lizard Lakes. Given that it’s nightfall upon returning to the north side of Death Mountain, I thought we’d go ahead and take it on, which led to a rather numerous outcome. The eye can actually fall down ledges where the Stalnox main body can’t recover it! I didn’t know this could happen. We wrap up meeting a monster control squad, which we’ll help next time before heading to the northernmost reaches of Eldin!

Part 4 and the end of GranFest preparation! As mentioned in the previous segment, we also have special Salmon Run gear for the upcoming Big Run! You’ll access it via the Switch News as with the SplatFest gear. You will also have to access your Grizzco locker to change, but it should appear there once you redeem it from the lobby terminal. As for the session of matches itself, not as great as the previous sessions, being 3 out of 6 wins instead of 4 out of 6, which isn’t awful, but still annoying. As per usual, we see Murch to make final adjustments to our gear after the matches. We’ll also check out how to change into the new gear for Salmon Run. I love the blue slopsuit, but I think we’ll use the new gear for the Big Run. Next time, we defend the Grand Splatlands Bowl in the Big Run!

Part 3 of GrandFest preparations! Before we start, you should now be able to get the special gear in the announcement yesterday. There’s two sets. We got the Turf War gear now, but we’ll get the Salmon Run gear next time. As for the session itself, pretty much the same as the previous two as far as win rate goes. These are the two newest stages and that can definitely make matches on them tougher by default. In any case, one more session to wrap up preparations! I may have to supplement an ability on the head piece since we got the GrandFest gear late.

Welcome back to more Splatoon 3 multiplayer! It’s now time to begin getting ready for what seems to be the last SplatFest, the Grand Festival or GrandFest! A special news cast featuring all the idol groups will announce the theme and teams! We’re dealing with the era of importance, Past, Present, or Future! I decided to join Team Future, but went back and forth between that and Present for a bit. This SplatFest will be a full 3 days, 72 hours! In addition, there will also be a Big Run as a Salmonid invasion has its sights set on the Grand Festival venue, the Grand Splatlands Bowl, before the event itself! So, that will be top priority after leveling up SplatFest gear. Speaking of gear, you may have noticed a bit of an error. The announcement made note of special gear indicating a gift from the Switch News feed, but nothing is there and there hasn’t been a social media post announcing it either. If there is gear that comes out later, I’ll show it. Anyway, this first session was reasonably decent. Got close to our first gear ability, but didn’t want the video to be too long with the longer news segment starting off the video. We’ll continue preparation matches next time!

Welcome back to more Splatoon 3: Side Order! With every Palette now reconfigured except Eight’s, I wanted to take this opportunity to revisit a few of the Palettes in an effort to collect Color Chips we have not seen yet. As mentioned earlier in the series, there are a few that augment the abilities of certain weapons, so you can only obtain them when using that weapon’s respective Palette. However, to 100% Side Order, you need to collect each Color Chip multiple times. We begin this redux with Pearl’s Palette, the Order Dualies, which was also the default Palette we first used. Our Color Chip we still needed was the Extra Dodge Roll Mobility chip. This took two full climbs to get, so that’s the reason my count of Prlz may seem inconsistent in the main Order Sector hub compared to the previous episode when we completed Marie’s Palette. There were a few interesting new occurrences during this climb, however. First off, this was our first floor 20 Parallel Canon. This variant is tougher than the 10th floor variant as the difficulty scales up alongside your own progress. In addition, the number of copies per phase has changed. Instead of there being one, two, and four in each respective phase, this variant has two, three, and five copies to deal with in each respective phase. We also try out Marina’s hack that swaps out floor objectives in an effort to find the Extra Dodge Roll chip. The enemy and boss log is almost complete, but the Color Chip log is going to take a while given our current pace. That’s why I decided to unlock and level up the Double Chip Rate hack to help us out. This now brings me to a question to those of you who are watching this series. How do you want us to finish this series? Are you interested in seeing every Side Order run I do, aside from runs where I don’t get the weapon exclusive chip during these three redux runs? Or, would you prefer to just see the redux runs for the Order Splatling and Orderbrush, then I’d grind for the Color Chips off screen and then show all the descriptions when we come back to do Eight’s Palette for the finale? I’ll probably also make a Community Post after those other two episodes to ask as well after those two episodes are up as well.

We now continue on with the Fire Temple! Before proceeding, I missed a chest of arrows on the second floor, so we’ll begin by making use of the elevator we opened on the third floor last time to return to the beginning and make our way through the mine cart routes again. Seemed to be the easier option given the switching of the rails. Anyway, returning to the third floor, the path to the fourth gong is about as much of an ordeal as the third gong was, if not more of one. You’ll have to manipulate one rail to reach the other side to destroy some marbled rock covering a switch you can’t access from the main area of the third floor. Then, you can return and use the set of two switches to orient the rail up and to the right to access the fourth floor on that side. From there, cross a bridge, drop through a broken segment to reach a new section of the third floor, swap a track lower to open the way back down to a new area of the second floor to reach the fourth gong by way of a ramp puzzle. Once that’s done, take the ramp you used and orient it to launch Yunobo to break more marbled rock on the other side. Now you can either make a _really_ long igneous rock bridge or make a Rocket Shield and glide across. Once there, you can glide down to the fifth and final gong. There’s a chest on part of a ledge on the way down as well as another near the gong. With the last gong active, use the switch to open the door to return to the main area of the first floor and the mechanism to open the gate. Time for the boss, Marbled Gohma! A new take on a classic Zelda boss, use Yunobo to take out its legs to stun it, climb up, and attack its eye. For the second phase, in typical Gohma fashion, this marbled fiery counterpart will start climbing on the ceiling. Use Yunobo to knock it down and finish it off. With all that done, we meet the Goron Sage of the past and Yunobo gains his Secret Stone! We’ve now completed all four temples associated with Regional Phenomena! We could check in with Purah at Lookout Landing now, but there are some other things I want to do first. We pick up in Goron City next time to begin those other things!

Welcome back to more of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! We now begin our exploration of the Fire Temple! Similar to the Lightning Temple, this temple is rather large. Our objective this time is using Yunobo’s Fire charge to unlock five padlocks by striking five gongs. There’s not necessarily a linear path through the temple, as with the others, but there is a recommended order to help keep you on course. Mine cart tracks cover most of the temple and will be your main means of getting around. Several chests will also be scattered around. Most with arrows both for long range combat, but also for hitting switches from a distance. You’ll be doing this a lot to change paths with the tracks. Backtracking in this temple is kind of a pain as a consequence, however. There is an elevator on the third floor connecting back to the first floor to help make this easier. Next time, we’ll head for the remaining padlocks and put an end to the marbled rock roast epidemic!

Welcome back to more Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door! Before getting into the episode itself, I wanted to mention the title screen updates with each new partner we get. I won’t show the title screen every episode, but I want to make a point to show every time it updates. Anyway, we emerge in Petal Meadows with a castle looming in the distance as an equally foreboding entity flies toward it overhead. We can’t access that area just yet, so we continue on to the village of Petalburg, a small Koopa abode nearby Petal Meadows, and speak with the inhabitants. We soon learn the identity of the figure we saw earlier as the dragon Hooktail who has terrorized the inhabitants of Petalburg for years. Accessing Hooktail’s castle involves unlocking the pipe we saw upon reaching Petal Meadows with artifacts known as the Sun Stone and Moon Stone, which are found in Shhwonk Fortress. Before setting out, I recommend buying some POW Blocks from the shop. You won’t be doing much damage to the upcoming iron-clad enemies otherwise. While in town, I decided to speak to the Battle Master for some practice. You’ll want to do this at least once since it has a special Tattle Log for Goomboards. Since we’ve now leveled up once, I’ll go ahead and mention how that works in this game and how I’ll be approaching it. One of the main things I always hear people say they like about this is how customizable it is. Every level up, you’ll get to choose between HP, FP, or BP to get a 5 point bonus. I’ve seen people go all in on Badge Points (BP) and Flower Points (FP) with crazy low HP builds that do ridiculous amounts of damage. However, that requires a near perfect handling of the guarding mechanics, which I’m not as confident in as many times as I’ve played the original. I take a more mixed approach and, as you’ve probably noticed already, I tend to battle almost every enemy. So, we’ll be leveling up a lot. I decided to go for FP for our first level up. BP isn’t much of a priority right now since we don’t have many badges, so I may invest in some HP early on. Upon reaching the main section of Shhwonk Fortress, we’ll wrap up here. Next time, we’ll finish unlocking the way to Hooktail’s Castle!

Continuing our exploration of the volcanic Depths beneath Death Mountain, we proceed beyond the Fire Temple to activate a couple more Lightroots and investigate another structure in the distance. The first of these Lightroots is on an island amidst a lava lake, so I recommend jumping and gliding from a higher point nearby. Once activated, you can glide back to the nearby “shore”. The structure beyond this Lightroot turns out to be the Scorching Coliseum, another of the various coliseums within the Depths. This time, we face a gauntlet of Moblins. One thing I find a little annoying about Moblins I recently noticed is that they will avoid head shots by taking winding routes toward you when your bow is drawn. This made this gauntlet a bit tougher and costed me more arrows than I was expecting to use. Not only that, but I also learned that the durability of weapons collected from enemies start with less durability depending on how much the enemy you looted it from used it. This caused a really good Zonai sword I fused with my best Construct horn I had at the time to break faster than usual. Kind of disappointed about that. On the plus side, the Hot Weather Attack buff was a good call for the Depths of a volcano! Anyway, after emerging victorious, we get Zant’s Helmet! Odd that something giving Unfreezable would be found in a volcano, but I suppose that fits. After getting another Lightroot nearby, we head back and proceed to the Fire Temple! Next time, we begin exploring the temple!

Welcome back to more of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! We now begin exploring the Depths beneath Death Mountain alongside Yunobo after the defeat of Moragia and jumping into Death Mountain, now a chasm. Upon speaking with Yunobo, a voice directs us to a large structure in the distance. Before heading there, I recommend prioritizing activating a few more Lightroots. The first of which is on the opposite side of the crescent shaped lava pool from where we began, so we’ll head there first. There’s an Igneo Talus nearby that I would suggest taking out to make reaching the Lightroot easier. Once activated, we head back to the Lightroot we activated upon entry and set a course for our objective, the Fire Temple! On the way, we find a rarity in the Depths. A Zonai device dispenser can be found ahead. Definitely make use of it. Further ahead, we find the Abandoned Eldin Mine, where we can get Crystallized Charges as well as another Schema Stone. Our next Lightroot is nearby, but this one is a pain to get to. It’s on a small platform above a lavafall. The best way to reach it is to make a Zonai flying device or to Ascend to the highest and closest point of the Abandoned Eldin Mine and make a Rocket Shield to alleviate some of the climbing. After some combat with some Gloom wreathed enemies, we come to a third Lightroot outside the Fire Temple, where we will wrap up for now. Next time, we’ll proceed a bit past the Fire Temple to activate a couple more Lightroots to make navigating the Fire Temple easier as well as checking out another large structure in the area!

We now climb the Spire of Order with Marie’s Palette, the Order Charger! As I mentioned earlier, this is probably the weapon that I was the most concerned about doing, which is why I saved it for last. Upon actually using it, I noticed it has a faster default firing rate than I expected, which already proves helpful. It still isn’t great in tight quarters, so try to avoid that if possible. As for the kit, the Order Charger comes with Ink Mine and Triple Inkstrike, a really solid kit to compensate for lacking in the ability to snipe, as I do. A lot of how I did this was focusing on building up my damage output and the Pearl Drone as well as ink efficiency. The result was definitely an improvement on my expectations of how I thought this would go. Managing to defeat Smollusk in our tenth rematch, eleventh overall, we get our last set of keys to unlock the remaining three lockers. The lockers disappear once all are opened and reveals Eight’s Palette at long last! As Marina notes, Eight’s Palette works differently than the others in that the more hacks we use, the less Color Chips we can set. This makes Eight’s Palette ideal for our final climb up the spire. As such, here’s my plan. I’d like to fully 100% this mode. To fully complete Side Order, you have to collect all descriptions for the enemies, bosses, and Color Chips. This involves defeating enemies multiple times and collecting the Color Chips multiple times each. Since there are a few Color Chips that require certain weapons to be used, we will need to revisit a few of the Palettes we’ve already cleared. Assuming that the Roller Chips can be collected with the Orderbrush as well, which I’m hoping is the case, we should just have to revisit the Order Dualies, Order Splatling, and Orderbrush to fill out the rest of the Color Chips. Three weapons I did particularly well with. Next time, we’ll begin these redux runs!

Welcome back to more Splatoon 3: Side Order! We now head up the Spire of Order with Murch’s Palette, the Order Blaster, in its entirety! You may be familiar with how I’ve split all climbs between two episodes except the tutorial up to this point. The reason I decided to do this one in one longer video is because I didn’t have a reliable charger for my laptop over the summer that would allow me to keep my laptop charging during a recording session. So, roughly the first 22 to 25 floors was as long as a full charge would allow. As for the palette itself, Murch’s Palette uses the Order Blaster, a new take on the Luna Blaster. It has Curling Bombs and Wave Breaker as its kit. Not the greatest combo offensively, but Wave Breaker does help with buying a bit of space if you get into a tight spot. Running low on ink in close quarters is bad news for this kit, especially in Splat Zones situations, which seemed to show up frequently this run. Beneficial Color Chips seemed to also gravitate to Splat Zones floors, so that left little choice. Ink Saver (Main), either Ink Damage, Homing Shots, and Firing Rate Color Chips are great fits for the Blaster and would have made for a very short run. Though, some of those didn’t even show up as options. Regardless, we defeat Smollusk for our ninth rematch, tenth time total! Only Marie’s Palette, the Order Charger, remains. Among the weapons that I don’t consider myself that great with, the Charger is the one I’m most concerned about. That’s why I saved it for last. We’ve done pretty well thus far with completing every Palette in a single run aside from the first official climb with the Order Dualies and the Order Brella. The latter actually being due to losing the footage and being forced to give up the run to restart for that episode. All that to say that I don’t have much confidence in the upcoming Order Charger run. We’ll go for it next time and see how we do.

We now make our way to Death Mountain itself! Due to the lack of recent eruptions and the cooled lava changing the terrain, I didn’t recognize the place. Likely why I completely missed where the Bridge of Eldin was in the previous episode. Anyway, there are a few Koroks, a few caves, and a couple of shrines to check out along the way, but our primary objective is to head to the Death Mountain crater alongside Yunobo in search of answers about Zelda and the marbled rock roast. Two of the three caves involve quests. One with a trapped Goron to free and a shrine crystal pitting us against an Igneo Talus, which really proved to be quite a challenge. Sidon’s ability as well as any other water or ice attacks you may have are a must for this battle. We also make a quick detour to the Shadow Hamlet Ruins after the shrine, which is slightly downhill back toward Akkala, for a Korok. Though, I noticed we missed a well there while editing. So, we’ll end up having to go back there at some point. After a couple other minor errands, we now proceed up to the top of Death Mountain via the mine cart rails. There are several instances of marbled rock along the way that Yunobo will have to take care of as well as an monster blockade near the top. Once dealt with, we can continue to the top. A shrine is tucked away on a cliff below the walkway to the crater, so definitely make a note to complete it. It’s a pretty simple shrine involving control stick equipped vehicles. At the top of Death Mountain, while trying to make sense of Yunobo’s previous encounter with Zelda there, an eruption creates an ambush! Moragia, a three-headed monster comprised of marbled rock, emerges from the crater. We’ll have to use the nearby flying contraption to fly up within range to launch Yunobo at each head to defeat it. With all that done, the crater is open, leading into the Depths. Following Yunobo, our search for Zelda continues in the volcanic Depths next time!

Welcome back to more of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! After we deal with a stray Korok escort we passed by last time on the way to YunoboCo HQ, which took us a far bit out of the way might I add, we check in with the front desk. If you didn’t buy Flamebreaker armor back in Goron City, you can buy a piece of it here. Anyway, Slergo and Offrak guard the entrance of a nearby cave where Yunobo seems to be interacting with Zelda about the marbled rock roast and we learn it’s extracted from glowing red rocks. When confronted, Yunobo attacks! This is a pretty easy battle. Just dodge his charge attack and attack when he’s stunned from hitting a wall. Also, I find it funny that his boss description is “Clearly Not Himself”. Three hits will break the mask, bringing him back to his senses and we get his ability as well as partnership. Now we are finally able to break the red rocks, which only Yunobo can, as well as any other rocks we come across. No more wasted bombs! I can see why most people do this quest much earlier than I did. Anyway, with Yunobo freed, we explore the area around HQ and collect more Koroks. We also make a detour to register the locations of the Bridge of Eldin and the Stolock Bridge above Goron City as well as helping Addison with another Hudson sign. One of the caves back around YunoboCo HQ has another shrine while another hides the final piece of Ember armor. Make sure to get the Bubbul Gems from each as well! Near the end of the episode, we find a neat Korok escort. A couple slabs will fall down the hill, which makes getting back up easy with a use of Recall. Next time, we continue exploring the area around Death Mountain and make our way up to the crater with Yunobo!

Welcome to a brand new series! A familiar story with a full remake! I played the GameCube version a long time ago, so I’m excited to play it again! It’s really ironic that the only two Paper Mario games I’ve actually played are now both on the Switch. I’m not much for nostalgia, but I really enjoyed this game and played the original a number of times, but I don’t think I’ve ever done a true 100% run. That changes here and now. We’re going to try for everything that we can. Both content that was in the original and added content in this remake. Already I have to say I love what was done with the music in this remake! The action command timing is a little different and will take some getting used to, but we’ll get it. I can’t remember if superguarding was in the original or not. Anyway, most episodes won’t be this long. I just wanted to knock out the whole Prologue at once. Next time, we explore Petal Meadows!
