If the thermal switch opened after only 10 seconds of use then there is a problem and it will re surface in the future. Either your heating element gets too hot or the TS is defective. I have a Kuerig K Supreme and my TS opened after I made about 5 cups of coffee in a row. I understand that I overworked the unit, so I was ok with it but it would be very good for the customer if Kuerig used a self re-setting TS and not put the customer through so much grief.

Thanks for sharing, it worked for me, although mine was a slightly different model, I was not able to bet the side off. However with the back plate off I was able to come down from the top with a long thin screwdriver and used baling wire to form a point at a 90-degree angle at the tip of the blade, went in by feel and hoped for the best. It worked! Thanks again!!

Kid your the best. Just fixed two of my Keurigs. My wife has coffee instead of blood in her veins and after descaling one it stopped working. Opened up my backup and it didn’t work. This happened at one am. Your trick work . Thanks!

Men just died. I’m sure you fix is the best way BUT I’m so furious I’m gonna be a BUTT an not try it. Called KEURIG and was transferred to some third world country where they barely speak English. They offered very litter assistance BUT offered me a discount on a new brewer. Just the worst!! Thanks again… after calm down perhaps I’ll try you way but for now I’m just gonna pout and be bitter!!! (Like a brat)

Easy to follow.... however I think a word of caution is merited here. I tried this on two Slim models, all seemed to go fine for the 2nd unit until I plugged it in after priming it, and within seconds I could smell burning plastic/rubber. Not worth the potential risks of a fire. 🤨 This immediately unplugged and am picking up a new unit tomorrow. btw... I've built/repaired PC's, laptops, etc over the years both privately and commercially, I'm not opposed to tinkering however a word of caution would be advisable. 😏.

Thanks so much. It was very helpful. I had two broken ones and fixed them both. I can't imagine how many people just discard the old ones. I called Keurig and they were no help, I asked them if there was a common problem and they said no. After looking on line this is a problem with most of the Keurig K Cup pots. What a rip off because most people will not fix them. Thanks again.

Call Keurig customer service, u have on year guarantee, as long as you have a receipt, they'll send u a new one, if it didn't work from the beginning, chances are there's something defective inside and it will probably break down again 😢
