I have a narcissistic brother who is a year older than me and always treated me like shit. He would often gaslight me and tell me that he is always better than I am and would often expect to be forgiven because that’s what god wanted us to do (grew up in a religious home) and that I needed to forgive him- He would often complain everyday about how no one would understand him everyday for the 15 minutes we had to ride back to our place I still have to put up with it since we are both still minors (I’m currently 15 and he’s 16) but it’s gotten a lot easier since he has to work most of the time and I’m besties with his ex (we would often share to each other our experiences with him) I think it’s safe to say I no longer believe in god I am getting the help I need, although I still get quite anxious around him and have a strong hatred towards him- I’m pretty proud of myself for the progress I’ve made, though I still have some work to do 😅 But yeah this song totally reminds me of how I feel towards him and whatever, it’s a good song! If it didn’t work out it’s because it set up wrong not because she isn’t good enough. Yo Chris, ive always known your song, smoking problems, that song still hits, especially when i was 17, yes because of that one bar on that song, everytime i woud get to that part i would feel a pit in my throat and definitely start leaking water from my eyes harder. That part still hits every year im older in a different way, like damn, now im a troubled adult with still a lost soul.
