I was making a creature collector when Ben announced the voidpet idea. I was not happy, because on a surface level, they were not entirely unlike. Voidpet, Ben's first game, was an instant runaway success while I've been toiling away for decades in obscurity. Is it petty? Absolutely. Am I still not happy about it? No. They ended up quite different, and I've moved on from mine, but I can't help feel a bit of resentment still. Totally a me problem. I don't think Ben ever even new I existed.
I may know nothing about game making, but I do know that even SAYING "like pokemon" might get you sued, lmaoo. Cool game, though, keep up the good work!
WAIT WHAT?! I THOUGHT VOIDPET GARDEN WAS A STANDALONE! will this one have more mental health features than Garden? The mental health stuff is pretty much the only reason i play Garden, i thought the pokemon-like battles were like a fun minigame to play when there are no pets in the garden to befriend or talk to, but this video makes it seem like the battles are the main focus? So i'm a bit worried all you will improve is the combat while leaving the mental health stuff the same
I think you're right on this. Envy is an emotion. Kindness is an action. A big strength of your game is showing the emotions themselves are neutral. It's how we channel them that matters. Also, the religiosity aspect might make it less inclusive for users with other cultures/spiritualities. The Catholic perspective on virtue is not the only one.

Most of the free writing assignments i did in school were scifi and fantasy about people I knew. I haven't thought about that for a decade, and i haven't written anything creative since school, now I'm suddenly feeling the bug, thank you!
Younger me would think I'm a hypocrite and a jerk, because I was raised to fail with a skewed view of life, the world and what success means, and now I know better. The one thing I did right was choosing g friends, and they saved me from myself and now I can see the world as infinite potential within reach, rather than infinite chaos I dare not touch.
