BEDSIT POETS -- The Dark Night
Clearly, it's been far too long since the Bedsit Poets featuring Edward Rogers and Amanda Thorpe graced our shores, or any other shores for that matter -- as evidenced by the fabulous set on offer at their record release show at Bowery Electric. All Roads Lead Me Back is an apt title for the album, considering its nostalgic -- yet somehow completely up-to-date -- mix of English folk-rock/pop to 70s-ish NYC punk, and a splash of Ray Davies, too! The rest of the top-quality band beautifully colored in the lines, featuring Don Piper, Bob Perry, Konrad Meissner, and Jeremy Chatzky -- brilliant musicians all! "The Dark Night" is a Patti Smith-reminiscent rocker/call-to-action, a most appropria...

The original Flower Girl
I so love knowing they're still together all singing. So grateful to hear them especially Susan. Keep on singing and we'll keep on listening. Love you guys.
Today I'm looking for all versions of this, and your video is invaluable. I've bookmarked it and I'll revisit often. Thanks so much!
She does this big justice
I love Susie Cowsill, how can you not.She does a great job on this song.
!!
Susan Cowsill gives a fine rendition of this sound track title song from the movie "To Sir With Love." Actually better than Lulu's.
What an awesome voice
I have HEARTED Susan since I was like 5! Saw the Cowsills a few years back. SUSAN ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Rises
The Cowsills never cease to amaze me.
Unbelievable. Beautiful. Susan you are great!!! Loved your stuff with the late great Twilley.
2024,, sigh, lovely Susan
Love you Cowsills see you again this summer.
Lulu would be proud....very well done cover....love ya Susan!
This was a hit in 1967 the same time they had the rain the park and other things
Susan Cowsill has an incredible voice . I have never heard her sing this one . She is marvellous!
❤
His dad would be proud❤ 🌟😎💫
🥰🥰🥰
Great tune! The garage band I was in played this one.
What a voice
Ah Patti. More edgy and rock and roll about her than all those pretentious leather clad, fist pumping spinal tap rock bands put together.
No one could phrase it any better. 🎸
That lead solo is a dead ringer for the sound of the one on the 1966 single and album. Completely. Very cool.
Lulu and Susie Cowsill does a fine job with tĥe song.
oh what a sound she made.......... as the world wonders.......... when will her glory fade !!!!!!
lt's 12 miles from me and my deceased folk's house, that's gone now. Torn down, property sold, to my favorite bar, that burned down. But a new one's there now. l met a girl in that old tavern named Jean and we almost made it, almost. lt's been decades since l saw her last. l need to go back there. Don't l. Every time l hear this song. First time in '67. l can still see her beautiful face.
Steve you're a great drummer, it was nice meeting you in Austin Airport on the way to cozumel!
Great live performance of this classic!
Thank you thank you thank you for posting this!
They're so talented and expressive. I like their personalities as well, as they seem to have moved through the decades mostly grounded and genuine rather than becoming self-important, flailing fame-followers.
Love at first sound! And sight.
Excellent cover- but being 12 years old went to Sir with love came out, Lulu is my favorite…
Such a wonderful guy Jim was!
Cette power girl est d une force ya pas mieux chante pour la vie Gloria de badkja
wow, that was great. Perfect song for you too. Never heard that 3rd verse before.
Saw these guy's in Dallas in 1967, they went on after The Who. Herman's Hermits was top bill. The show was essentially over when The Who destroyed their equipment and walked off.
this could be her swan song ...
Not bad
I love this band
Nice flavor to this song you guys did great.
Susan is the best. Great sound
This was really good! Good job Susan.
I got thousends of records.. I'm not sure if Psychedelic Lollipop is the sixties american greatest album.. but I'm sure it's the one I like most..
This Band retains its Chops for 50 Years WOW. They are damn good! I love’em. They unlike most today are actually playing. This was one of my desert island 60’s Discs. Live long and prosper. If you are interested The Electric Prunes have toured over the last several years. They released a DVD recorded in Europe. Perfect versions of their hits it’s all still there.
Well done....
Love the style. The vocal is great to listen, different but still in the groove.
I've always loved To Sir, With Love. I have to say ... Susan, you were amazing on this. Love the Cowsills, and I love Lulu
Beautiful singing, but I still have to take issue with the lyric in the third verse: "people some day." Children are people already!
