This was a while ago but thank you for this. I used this method to get an overclock for my LOK-1. I didn’t have any and it was getting on my nerves, as there were several that I would accept but I just wasn’t rolling any LOK-1 OC’s after 200 hours. So I did the method and got explosive chemical rounds on the first reroll after reloading the save. Right away, my gameplay got way more fun and I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait an arbitrary amount of time to get it.

Glad i saw this video! Just promoted Driller, my first promotion, was excited to be able to craft Overclocks for him but so far i got 6 overclocks for all the classes but him. I'll eventually play all of them but i'm learning Driller and want to get better with him first, and the RNG doesn't help. They should at least make you drop only your class Overclocks and not be able to get any. Some games already had this problem, like Diablo etc, where you could get set pieces for any class and they switched to class-specific drops, alot of games do it like this so people won't stock on items they don't want/plan on playing the character needed to use it. It's not very exciting to grind Driller, learn him, do missions with him, and get rewards for other classes.. I got two Unstable Overclocks for the other classes that are amazing and sounds fun but i never touched them and someday i'll, but that bums me as a Driller to have no Overclocks so far.

I got the explosive chemical rounds on my 3rd promotion on engineer and honestly, i don't see why it's so good. if anything really its just an overclock that gives 1 explosion after 3 shots on an enemy and 20% less ammo

i was just playing and earning a lot of overclocks randomly but now i kinda wish I had did this earlier for the ones I wanted as I'm starting to get burned out on the grind

Reflection damage just ensures that if the Driller does C4 the other 3 players, that they will go down as well.

As a player with about 40 hours returning to the game, overclocks are really what makes the game fun to me. I am a huge fan of weapon/class customization in any game. Two of my favorite (recent) games are Diablo 4 and the modern Call of Duty games, both of which feature very in-depth build customization. To me, RNG just limits player creativity and artificially inflates the amount of time a grind takes. For example, let's say I really wanted Bullet Hell for the Gunner. As far as I'm aware, you have an equal chance to get every overclock/matrix core accessory. With there being 160 overclocks across all of the weapons, I'd have a 0.625% chance of getting the Bullet Hell overclock. Personally, as someone who values my time and likes to play other games, I do not care to grind that out. Let's do some more math. As Deep Dives and Weekly Core Hunts can only be completed once per week, you get 3 Overclock Cores per week. Two from the Deep Dives, and one from the Core Hunt. If I gave up some sleep, I could realistically get one promotion per day, at 10 hours per promotion. That means I, assuming all of my free time is dedicated to this game, could get 10 cores per week, taking 70 hours overall. 160 total cores means it would take me 16 weeks to get all of the cores. 16 weeks times 70 hours and you get 1,190 hours to get every core, assuming maximum optimization. In a worst-case scenario, it could take me all 1,190 hours to get just the Bullet Hell overclock. Based on some quick Google searches, I could become completely fluent in both French and German in the amount of time it takes to get every overclock in the game. As the grind is determined by RNG, it is completely possible for me to get every overclock *except* the one I actually wanted after 1,180 hours of grinding. Personally, I am not willing to endure that grind for a game I play very casually. I'm here to shoot some bugs and mine some Morkite, not play a slot machine.

If they made it so you could pick it would get rid of the chance that you might find a random oc that u like it happened with me for salvo module

As someone who went back (from s5) I found s4 pretty fun. I could definitely see how people who’ve been playing for longer don’t like it though.

One time I was hosting a public lobby like I usually do, and we had finished the mission, but then an ally driller threw a c4 down and accidentally blew up everyone but the gunner, who then somehow died as well despite having a shield that can be used in emergencies. 💀 How would this work with your system?? The c4's damage is simultaneous! You can't just have an on-death effect happen to prevent friendly fire when EVERYONE would die at the same time! Someone could easily take a c4 with the larger aoe and more damage upgrades and then wipe an entire team before your system even has a chance to work.

Wasn't pressed until I got 5 OCs for a gunner weapon I still haven't unlocked, while I don't have a single OC for breach cutter, zhukovs or collette when 90% of my playtime is on those weapons. I've never even chosen gunner on machine events or forge levels. And timegating feels like D2 or Genshin where catching up becomes exponentially more difficult the later you start playing, because not only did you miss out on past opportunities to claim rewards, but now you have to contend with powercreep and the initial pool of rewards being heavily diluted by the content that has been added since the original launch

While I like the reflection idea and something akin to your suggestion for how it could function makes a lot of sense. But honestly I'd like to include another incentive like exp or credit reductions if you down a teamate to make griefing actively punished in a way that is a little more than just in mission. Maybe this could require a vote from the team in the end screen cause accidents do happen. But I really feel that that such behavior shouldn't be completely up to the community to police. Tho on a related side note I agree you don't see much of that kind of behavior at higher difficulties, heck I don't think I've seen it outside of Haz3 and below (obviously my experience doesn't reflect everyone) but what I have unfortunately had to run into is the sweaty "Your not good enough to play with me/us" attitude. It's rare but happens at those higher hazard levels especially the new Haz+ modes. Not saying it's something that needs the devs attention yet as that problem mostly solves itself other than a momentary feel bad. Just something I felt like pointing out.

Here's my POV, I'm relatively new to the game, I love Scout yet I barely have any overclocks for it. Meanwhile I already have some of the best for all the other classes (Executioner for Engi, Volatile bullets for Gunner and Sticky Fuel for Driller). I will be doing this next time I get the chance at the forge.

Min maxing is against the spirit of drg imo. The reason i love this game is because it doesn't pump up fomo - acting like your gameplay experience will magically be fixed by an overclock does the opposite. If you like the game you'll play the game. Just my opinion, the only reason i started trying different classes was because i got oc i wanted to try so devs were right in my case.

There are always griffers and rock heads , the problem becomes realy visible when the playerbase starts goes down. If it realy becomes a big problem it might be to late at that point. Thats why it doesnt matter to the devs that much.

I did this and basically got all the overclocks i really wanted (executioner, mortar rounds, explosive chem rounds, etc) I have a question, after we finish doing this save scumming, what do we do with that save file we copy and put onto our desktop? Should we just delete it? Im scared to do anything in case i delete my save file on accident lol but I also dont want this random save file on my desktop

I’ve actually come up with something of a system of my own called the “Damage Consent and Understanding System” or DCUS/DCaUS, if a player was downed by another player, they *may choose* to put what I call a “karma” counter, after the first 2 “karmas” have been put onto a player, all friendly fire is reflected back to the player who shot them by 25% (which will increase for every other karma added on afterwards by 10%) 4 karmas will make it so that it only does 50% damage to the person they’re shooting at, after 5 karmas have been put on a player they will be immediately kicked from the match regardless if the mission is complete or not. It’s complicated, but put it into shorter terms people can determine if it was accidental, you just clowning around that one time, or if you’re being a little shit.

All i'm gonna say is that at least 50% of all intentional FD happens at the Doors of the drop pod, where a 5 second rez literally doesn't matter.

I think that adds too much thinking tbh. Idk if griefing is that drastic of an issue yet. It's a problem, but many games have griefers. It's kind of a "sucks it happened to me" then you move on.
