How could anyone miss Jimmy Fallon? He's the only thing about the whole series that just doesn't fit. I''ve watched the series many times over and I now just skip the part where Fallon drives up. He just pulls me right out of the story because he's just awful. I keep waiting for him to start giggling. **shudder**

There is significant doubt about the Spiers-Prisoners scene, that he effectively lured them to slaughter by giving them cigarettes before firing on them. At least the series had the good sense to not actually show him doing the shooting. And there is context that was not given to the incident. The paratroopers were ordered by General Maxwell Taylor to take no prisoners on D-Day because it might put American lives at risk to fight the enemy while tending to prisoners. Spiers was unfairly singled out for this in the series in order to make a point about his personal ruthlessness and Spiers remained bitter about this for the rest of his life. Spiers was known to be a first class officer who was respected for his fearlessness and the fact that he ultimately retired as a Lt. Colonel is telling. As well the rumor that he shot an NCO for disobeying an order is also a misrepresentation since according to witnesses the NCO was drunk and had pointed a weapon at Spiers who had ordered him to stand down, which he did not do, before shooting him and the Army found his actions to be self-defense.

this is something that is always misinterpreted in reviews of this series. episode 1 DID NOT show Easy company going through "boot camp". the soldiers who went through jump training had already gone through Basic Training and their advanced MOS training and were fully qualified soldiers. many of them had already served more than a year in the Army and some had even seen combat. episode 1 depicted them going through their Airborne training to become paratroopers.

Band of brothers is a amazing series, it made me kind of sad about Sobel, I did not know what really happened to him.

David Schwimmer was great. I really hated Captain Sobel. I had no idea how badly his military experience affected his mental health.

How on earth do we neglect our Veterans in A VETERAN HOME?!? Sobel may have been disliked, but he made fine soldiers. As an RN and daughter and niece of Veterans, I am horrified to learn of this. NOT ON MY WATCH would any Veteran be left to die from starvation. When I’ve worked in the long term care setting- all of my residents are well cared for and in no way shape or form would this happen. Every time I enter a long term care facility, I specifically look for wall postings of the residents who served. And I ALWAYS thank them. It’s striking how humble these men and women are when they are shown gratitude. Our freedom isn’t free. It’s the result of ultimate sacrifices and learning of this today is appalling 😢

What about that the fact that actor Damien Lewis was British along with a lot of the cast????? What about a real BOB Veteran Babe Hefron had a cameo in the series??? Also Mark Warren who played Albert Blithe was British. You mention James McAvoy -he was Scottish. You missed a lot in this video. Albert Blithe didn't die in 1948 as stated in the series from his injuries he went in to the Korean War and earned the Silver Star and Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He dies in 1967. Honestly if they would have asked me, I would have been an ekstra for free! I have always been a WWII historical nutcase and loved not only Band of Brothers but all the related series' and movies because of the attention too detail and relatable characters.

He died of neglect and malnutrition well in a Home for veterans. My god. No matter what you might think of his Behavior, No one deserves that least of all a veteran who served our country. And he was in an institution that was supposed to take care of veterans. If you know anything more about this can you please publish it. I am appalled. I know that this happens. I don't care how obnoxious he was to his men. No one.No one deserves that kind of treatment. People in prison for horrible crimes are treated better. Shame on us for letting this happen to a veteran.❤
