Io stravedo per Prince: mi piace lui come persona, mi piacciono le sue canzoni e la sua musica, mi piace la sua voce, sia in falsetto che al naturale, un Prince che è da sempre il mio cantante preferito. Detto ciò, mi ha molto sorpreso questa versione di 17 Days, perché la versione che conoscevo io era quella presentata al concerto di Los Angeles, nel 2011, che, non conoscendo io l' inglese, l' ho trovata che trasmetteva gioia e allegria, con un ritmo travolgente che ti metteva il buon umore e con un Prince che cantava con una voce che ti stendeva, il tutto supportato dalle voci delle tre cantanti che condividevano il palco con Prince, che incitavano il pubblico a unirsi in coro e a partecipare con entusiasmo al canto. Questa versione è sempre bellissima, ma è intrisa di malinconia. Completamente diversa da quella che ha contribuito a far sì che questa diventasse la canzone di Prince che a tutt' oggi io preferisco. Sono le sedici e 7.

I need to hear why this full version was left off the 'Purple Rain Super Deluxe or whatever they called it' set. What in gods name would have been the reason? Was there a handwritten note by Prince stuck on the tape saying: "Do not ever make this public?" - It's a crime that this was not included (but that Velvet Pussycat was. Yeah, that had a lot to do with the PR outtakes. Geez). As well as the full length version of Darling Niki. Thats 2 separate crimes Paisley Park has committed for his most famous album's box set. Epic failure folks.

Thanks a lot, Kid, 4 uploading this. I had heard this years ago, a friend of mine had actually put this on cd and given to me as a present (along with other Prince extended versions). That cd is lost, unfortunately, but you made up for it.

This has always been my favorite song from Purple Rain (era). I’ve always thought these b-sides were the better album. And if this was actually a Brenda Bennet song/duet from a would-be 2nd Vanity 6 album, then I even sadder about Prince and Vanity

For my GK"s. Sitting in a diner with a buddy. Looked at the jukebox, and this was a b side track on "When doves cry"( of course not this version). Heard it and was like "WHAt"! Already had the album, but straight to the record store ( yes, we had to go to the music store in those days) and bought the purple 45. Great music times!

Prince rivals Michael Jackson..in my opinion.

Man o man. The Revolution was so his best band he put together. Wendy and Lisa in backing sounds so right with him. They were young, they were funky. It just ads up with his songwriting and hardware back then.

They put so much out on the Purple Rain Deluxe Edition.....except THIS which we really wanted!! 🤦🏻‍♂Its omission was staggering.

The original is better. This one dilutes the intensity of the original and feels a bit sloppy. The orginal is perfect and a masterpiece. I disagree with everyone saying this is better. But it's fun to hear it.

when I was combing record stores in the late 80's - this was my absolute favourite unreleased song...this was a perfect transition song from his "Private Joy" buoyancy during Controversy, with some sensibilities that could have been done by the time. If someone asks me my favourite Prince track on the street - very good chance it is this.
