    I dont get why you attached the cables in that why where it has to fold over, wouldnt it have been easier to attach the new cable from its other side so it would have remained flat? Could you please explain why you folded it?

    • @serafineightyfive
      @serafineightyfive 12 дней назад

      tha flex cable is basically a layer of plastic with a layer of traces on it. the whole thing is coated with this black material. you can scrape the coating on one site exposing the traces, but scraping the coating of the back side only reveals the plastic, you cant solder to that so you have to make the fold

    Can the screen assmbly just be swapped out with one from a dead macbook of the same model? Does apple do nasty things so you can't just replace the entire thing in including the cover and hinges in one go?

    I've been dreading the installation of my new LCD screen, but after watching you in this video I think I have the confidence to have a go. You make it look easy, but it doesn't seem as hard as I thought it would be. This video is one of 2 DIY vids on all of YT! The other one shows heating up the screen first, and I wanted to ask if you did this? I guess heat helps remove the rubber seal. I found some electrical tape on Ebay $5.00+$160.00 for the LCD panel. I'll be happy if I see that Apple light appear, like magic 💻🪛🤯😬🤔🤗💻

    • @serafineightyfive
      @serafineightyfive 12 дней назад

      note he didnt fix the cable directly at the broken position but further to the middle of the cable. the soldered part of the ribbon is always staying flat and is even being held down by the antenna when reassembled. making the whole cable 2-3 mm longer prevents the bending part to brake again

    I might consider a MacBook for image editing and stuff but the price for storage is just insane on apple. And if a long weekend yields 200-500Gb in images then you will not want to rotate projects in and out of your tiny ssd all the time. Windows vs Apple is just cancer vs... another cancer you can decide how to suffer but you will suffer -.- If this upgrade wasnt far far beyond my electronic skillz i might get me a used macbook now that ive seen this i continue suffering with windows. (linux is no option due to limitations in gpu usage)

    Just got my M1 Pro MacBook Pro back from this shop and I went from 1TB to a full 4TB for a reasonable price. SSD speeds are awesome as always reaching 7000MBps write and about 6000 MBps read on Black Magic Disk Speed Test. Didn’t have to disable Find My too and the shop owner Sam Freeman communicated really well and got my MacBook back to me safely. I’m thankful for the services you offered and I have nothing but good things to say. Even though the shop is located north of the boarder for me, Sam had a system to ship within the US avoiding customs delays. Their shop has all of the processes and systems in place to do the great work I witnessed. Thank you so much again, you brought new life to my 2021 MacBook delaying my need to upgrade for likely a few more years.

    Thanks a lot for the video! Had the issue and repaired it myself with your method, and it was an almost success! Almost because on the bottom row of the backlight, I have some kind of spotlight effect, as if one led out of every two was not on. I guess there is a connection that is not correctly soldered. Anyway, the Mac is now usable as it only affect the equivalent of the dock, so not so bad.
