I10 Freeway Motorcycle Incident - 10/18/24
10/18/24 01:49 AM, Responded to a motorcycle incident report via AZ DPS radio traffic on the Interstate 10 west bound. @SGV_LiveWe arrived just before the freeway closure and set up just above the scene. It was reported via DPS radio that the a vehicle collided with the motorcycle and left the scene. The motorcycle rider was already unalive upon arrival. It was also said via DPS radio that another driver "ran" the rider over and was cooperating with DPS throughout their investigation. Unknown of the outcome of that piece of information since later DPS announced there was only one vehicle involved. The motorcycle was several yards west of the rider, almost 100 yards away.

Hey, RCT! Highway 88, Apache Trail, is finally opened! We are excited to see it re-opened after several years of it being closed. At some point, I didn't think it would ever reopen after the trail was destroyed. This is our first stomping grounds when we first moved to Arizona years ago. We loved the scene, the peace, and nature. It was always nice taking a cruise down the trail to the lake and...

Hey, RCT! Came across a roll over broadcasted by Arizona DPS on the night of 09/22/24 around 12:39 am. Arrived after the incident but observed the vehicle still rolled on it's side. DPS units were conducting their investigation while FD and EMS stood by for evaluation. It appears FD and EMS left the scene after a few moments. Nextel Walkie Talkies Still Work!
I wonder if it would hold its charge, as i have the i686, and it didn't hold their charge. Even with the new batteries.
@@petetran2018 I had to buy a battery charger on a dock for it to work. Try that instead of charging it in the phone.
Haven’t been lucky to have the cos depot software. I have the tuner and programming but can’t enable all features on my xts5000
@moyers680 keep checking Google. It comes and goes and I'm sure if you hit someone up om RadioReference.com you'll find it.
Yes, 0.5 watt, the same radio is here in Europe (PMR watt), that`s why
Awesome! Did not know that. Thanks for watching!
Trey
You do not need 4WD to go from Canyon Lake over Fish Creek Hill to Apache Lake Marina; we pulled a boat through there in mid 90's with a 2WD pickup, road back then was WORSE than it is now!!!
Why didnt you just use "Close Call" it would have pulled the Rx right away
@jasonmirabile5184 Close Call works best at close proximity. In distance, it will struggle. I did use close call inside the mall while walking around.
Amazing amazing
Nice
I just ordered these. I work maintenance at a Summer beach club. We will see how well they work.
@@LCERRP Let me know how they work out 🤘
😂🎉😊😮
I have the motorola i920 windows, can I use it as walkie talkies?
@wussy1326 I don't believe so. The DirectTalk feature came out when Sprint took over Nextel. It looks like a phone before Sprint was involved. Unless you can find the DirectTalk feature in your settings. Thanks for watching!
it won't chirp if it didn't make contact.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOTO_Talk
These phones look way out of date but were ahead of their time. I do have quite a few of them. The IC series were hybrids, they will only work if they were once connected to the sprint network. If they are new they didn't make that initial handshake they will never work unless someone would change the code. I have about 12 of those buzz handsets. There are other models that work fine in direct talk or moto talk. I use them for ATV comms connected to blue tooth headsets. The Direct talk uses the stored phone number on the unit. Do not change the # on the IC handsets. The other handsets that are not the hybrid models will be fine.If you create a contact with the other hand sets or handset and put a name with it it will be private comm to comm and will not be heard on the other channels .
If you're gonna get a direct talk radio, do not get the flip phones or the versions with an 'is' in the model number. The flip phones were lower powered, and had less than half a watt output, and the ones with 'is; in the model number had even less power. The 'is' stood for Intrinsically Safe, which is a standard places like Europe and Canada use for radio waves. It means that the device will not interfere with FM signals, and has an output so low that it cannot interfere with FM signals. So the "is' versions are for Canada and passed Canada's IS test, and have much lower output power. The most powerful Direct Talk device was the R765. There is an R765 and an R765IS, and the 'is' version has less output power. The bad part is the R765 and R765IS are expensive, and hard to find. But the R765 is a full one watt output, which is the maximum allowed by law.. The R765 and R765IS also passed all the military tests for dust, water, impact etc. If you are gonna get any of them, skip right to finding a R765, and if you cannot find one, the only other choice is the I355. If you want one that is more modern, go wit the I886. The I886 was the only one with Android. It was also for a few years the only android device that did not have a touch screen or wifi. The I886 is usually easy to find new in the box. Nonetheless, the R765 and I355 are the best two models by far. The I886 is the only mode you can still use for anything, because it has android. All the other models are decent, but you cannot expect much from them, because they lack output power. You can get 2 or 3 miles out of the R765 and I355
Do you know how to program the XTS 3000 . I live in Arizona 😊 I just wanted to try to get help with it
@@joemazza1011 Yes, I do! Email me or DM me on Instagram @radiocheckk
Are these something you can program by hand or have to hook up to a computer with software? I want to get into learning radios but don’t know where to start. Also awesome looking setup it’s retro!
Most radios (unless they have Front Panel Programming) will need software, a certain computer, and a programming cable. This one in particular needs all of the above. A good starter to learning about programming is Baofeng, TIDRADIO, etc. You can program those radios from the radio. Thanks!
Love that radio

@OuterSpaceJake Oooo don't say that, but yes, luckily, it wasn't. Happy it still gave off good meter reading as well.
Weird seeing bikes like Harley's on the dirt section. I was so happy when I heard they opened up the AT finally! We had a camping trip last year at Roosevelt Lake and we had to take the long way round because this was closed. I'll have to check it out in my 4wd Canyon when it gets a little cooler out. Not a big fan of trips like that when it's hot out.
@AGPullen I don't blame you on waiting for it to get cooler. This week has been hot. I had to take the long way around to get to our lake spot which was at least 2 hrs. Cutting through I think was an hour. Happy off roading 🤘 Thanks for watching.

@@MKEPTV thanks! Much appreciated!
Just found your channel thanks to the recommendeds. I used to be big into the hobby about 30 years ago as a teenager. I owned a base Uniden Bearcat 350CA for my first radio. That was back when cell phones ran essentially through baby monitor frequencies under 40 Mghz. I got some good 90s neighborhood gossip that way. LOL. It was legal in my state at the time. The only active mischief I got into once was using an old FRS/MRN band to mess with a freighter on vacation off Lake Huron once. Stopped doing that. I doubt he was anything important being on the FRS frequencies. Now, I would never interrupt traffic at stores etc. I just listen to ham bands(2 meters) mostly these days. Currently, I own a lot of shortwave radios along with my Yaesu HT. The closest I own to what you have is the Radio Shack Pro HT. Bought it like 10 years ago used for $25 at a garage sale. I got priced out of the hobby. When you said Fashion Square Mall, there is the Saginaw Fashion Square Mall here in the Midwest. And yeah, the higher the squelch, the more digital birdies you hear. I will definitely sub by the way. I was on the Arizona pilot for my old job which involved contacting businesses by phone throughout the state from Flagstaff to Yuma. Cool to see some of this scenery with my own eyes.
@DJMetzler337 Hey, I appreciate the feedback. I started off with those RadioShack scanner almost 20+ years ago! Around the time P25 came out and I heard digital signals coming in and not knowing what that was. Thanks again for the support!
These radios are actually 400-470MHz, not 900MHz. What you are receiving is a spurious emission on 900MHz which isn't good. Means it's transmitting dirty.
Theyre cheap. No one expects this to be clean. They are multiband, and that was transmission on 900 mhz, not interference
@@DankEngine710 I have these radios. They're UHF 400-470MHz but I can program VHF in them but they don't transmit very far. Not made for anything but 400-470MHz.
@@djsoundzentertainment42 I have 8 and use them on my farm on 900mhz. Not very far but they do work. I have a feeling it’s probably using the same ROC as the quansheng uv series or something similar with the frequency range these things really have. Sorry if I came across as aggressive.
@DankEngine710 Yes, correct! Same set up as the Quansheng which allowed me to program a few channels on 900 mhz. They didn't do very well on 900 mhz because the antenna isn't tuned for 900 mhz. Thanks for watching and proving your feedback!
@@RadioCheckk they have better interference blocking than the hamgeek “APX at home” 😂😂
Im sorrry do you use zillo.*

Knott's? That's by my house.
I used to live off of Knott & Crescent years ago! I used to walk to Knotts growing up.
I have a couple of them. I have one I recently bought off eBay for a good price however seller had said can't find flash code I don't think he tried .I don't know if you know anything about that. Or how to access the flash code out of the radio . It works there's some channels already programmed in it . I have no idea how to do this kind of stuff I just like collecting them😊. I mean I would like to have some channels in it. To use it like a scanner these radios have great sound quality
@joemazza1011 While the radio is turning on, I believe you can press the lowest button five times and it will put it into service mode. It will scroll all of the radio's information including flashcode. Feel free to email me so we can talk about getting it programmed for you! Thanks for watching!
@@RadioCheckk so on this radio one you hit the button 5 times. It won't give you the flash code. I have no idea how to get it
what you should have done was do it by block till you could not hear the other person than and only then game over my radio will run out at 20 miles on a repeater tower group but that requires a F C C licensee which I have
@donalderickson-si8ww Some radio can't reach an entire block, hence the reason why I choose a mall. These radios are 1/2 watt which means they couldn't reach a block if anything. These also cannot connect to a repeater because these are a FRS. Thanks for watching!
