Caravan awning LED lights - from bright white to amber
Просмотров 489 месяцев назад
Make your caravan awning lights shine an amber colour instead of bright white. This helps to stop insects being attracted to the lights at night. The door light can be treated the same way if you find it too bright and in your face. Get some automotive reflector repair tape. Available from most auto accessories stores. Then all you need is a step ladder and a pair of scissors, cut a piece of ta...

Trail-A-Mate hydraulic jack oil top up.
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.Год назад
A quick how-to check and top up the hydraulic oil level in a Trailer Mate hydraulic jack. My Trail-a-mate jack was struggling reach the height that it used to achieve when new. There are no signs of oil leakage and it’s not had a lot of use so a check of the oil level was required, not a full service. Tip… never put any body parts under the load without proper supports. Don’t let any foreign ma...

Thunder DC-DC charger test review
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.2 года назад
Testing the operation of the Thunder DC to DC charger on my car. It highlights how useless the display is and the potential for overcharging with high voltage output of the unit. The Solar regulator part of it, in my opinion, is dangerous to use with sensitive circuits such as with portable fridges and the like due to the voltage going above 15.5v and at times as high as 15.7v. In the manual, t...

Comparison of 12 pin flat trailer sockets. Narva 82072BL and the Britax B48. These particular sockets do not have reed switches in them for disabling reversing sensors. In summary: Both cost about the same, $25 to $30. Plastic moulding is identical on both, (apart from branding) Both have the same size wire connectors, 2.78mm for the 7 pin row and 3.96mm for the 5 pin row. The Narva wire connec...
Black Diamond assembly from crate. Hints and tips.

You will need some heavy lifting gear to assemble the 30T wood / log splitter. It’s pretty straight forward. Remove all the light stuff from the crate. Lift the heavy ram section from the centre and lay it on the ground. Move the sling to the end / top and lift it to the vertical position. Keep it supported until connected to the draw bar. Fit the wheels to the axles, fit the draw bar. Roll the...
Old Honda 1988 TRX300 - new CDI, New Carby = new life

1988 TRX300 Big Red 2WD. Wouldn’t start. No Spark and carby all seized up. Hot wired a new Chinese DC CDI unit and replaced the carburettor with a Chinese copy. The carby was not 100% identical. The fuel inlet nozzle orientation on the new one was 90deg out but no problem. The choke valve was different making the choke cable a bit fiddly to fit but turned out ok. Less than 100 bucks and the old...

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Helped me greatly.

I think he must be too embarrassed to speak 🥵
I have an aftermarket DC CDI not made for Honda bikes. Bike does start and rev but when put it in gear has an insane rev limit and won't go past a cartain RPM. The universal DC CDIs have 2 ground pins one of them is what you describe as "Alternator sensor".in the video. Will there be an issue if the wire is grounded? Is there a hack for non-Honda CDIs?
if i disconnect the gray wire would it still work?
are they using 6 volt ignition coil? because all my electronics are new and im only getting about 6 volt to the ignition coil wire
please can you tell me how much volt the cdi should give to the ignition coil mine give about 12 volt is this normal?
Hi there. Thanks for checking out my video. From memory, when your ignition is on, the cdi should supply 12v to the coil. When you kick the engine over, the pulse from the pulse generator will tell the cdi to momentarily cut the supply to the coil. The coil then generates the spark to the plug by the collapsing magnetic field inside the coil. I hope this makes sense.
@@trevhead62Gmail Thank you for the fast reply, so 12 volt is the right voltage for the ignition coil, i was not sure because on a other bike i saw 50 volt and i tough mine was defect. I think my problem is that im not using the right ignition coil because everything else seem to be in working order.
The 50v you are seeing could be from the alternator wire which should go to the regulator. When I get a chance I’ll test the voltage at the coil when it’s running vs just ignition on. I’ll post back results.
ive got 1 too had it for years and i feel like it doesnt work very well at all.
You need to buy the dummy model!
Speak up boy!
Thanks for the vid mate, doing mine tomorrow.
Thanks for sharing
Exactly no bs like it 👍
You explained in under 2 minutes in simple words that we understand what goes where and why. Beats watching a 20 minute plus video of someone doing the exact same thing and not having a clue what they are on about. Well done.
Add more water .....
Maybe next time she could buy a lawnmower.
Thank you so much for filming this
Thanks for your imput i was wondering if this cooked my aux battery as its output charge was higher than i liked. maybe i can add some resistance on the out put to drop the voltage to a safer charge output.
Cant hear what your sayin'
Hi mate, The sensor in the top of the gear box is it Gear box speed sensor or else.
trev have the same all working fine next day get a battery fault. All connection good car battery at 12.7 and charging at 14.7 but no coming to other battery thru dc charger. Any ideas ????????? Thanks Steve
What does the display show? If wired up as per instructions using the recommended size cables it should be working. Double check earth connections. Sorry can’t suggest what else could be wrong other than poor connections, crook aux battery or the charger is faulty.
My USB port doesn't recognize anything I put on the stick. Guess my AVR is busted.
remake this and speak up ...wow ...
get your ears tested.
Just ordered the exact same setup, sounds like it has some guts let us know how it goes I'll be trying mine out on the weekend.
is there another part to this here you get into the actual testing of the CDI (DC) unit itself? That is hat I need. I have the connections you have stated in this video and they are in the correct position, but from there to the testing.....I guess talking this out here just told me if I get the values coming in here they re supposed to be then the CDI would be defective..... ok, thanks for the help!! geeish i really do need to get one of those plastic frogs or dogs to sit on the bench I can talk to, just to hear it being said to make sense of it all... thanks again!
I remember twin tubs from the 70's. It was a bit a laborious but was a big step up from handwashing.
Couldn’t agree more with Peters comment. You’re video is the simplest and by far easiest to quickly understand. Cheers.
Can you explain where is the drain point.
Sorry I forgot to add cut it with a small angle grinder.
I had the same issue a few days ago, the only way is to cut it to bits until you only have the brass centre left it’s free wheeling in the impeller.
Thanks buddy- top hints in description! Cheers
I would just like to let you know your simple and quick explanation helped me immensely. I spent a lot of time watching more in depth videos where you had to be an auto electrician to understand what they were talking about. As soon as I watched your video I knew what I was doing wrong, so good job 👍
love ya humour!🤣🤣🤣🤣
dumb review you could have showed us how it works not just fill it up derrr
l have same car but l dont understand why its important ?
Hi, without a timer like this, the glow plugs continue to glow for 5 minutes even after the glow plug indicator light on the instrument panel goes out which very much shortens the life of the glow plugs. The burning glow plugs in the cylinder head get very hot and over time, are responsible for stress cracks appearing the cylinder head... between the plug aperture and the exhaust valve. The worn out tip of the plugs can also break off and punch holes in the top of the pistons and/or damage the turbo. It’s a good investment for the longevity of the motor.
It also lightens the load on the main battery. They draw a lot of amps.
Hi. Recently installed a manual push button in a MK1 Pajero. Is there anything between the buzzbar and the LED? Aren’t the Amps coming off the buzzbar to high for an LED (or any 12v bulb) I think it’s a great idea btw 👍🏻
The high amps are across the glow plug tips to earth. The LED itself draws only a miniscule amount of power. It's good practice to use only a very thin wire to the LED as the GP power supply circuit has a very high amp fuse. If there's a short in the LED circuit somewhere, the thin wire (like a fuse) will quickly overheat and burn out, and hopefully not cause a major fire/melt-down.
Hey. LED light is connected to the gp buzbar but where does the other end of the led connects to? Ground or 12v source? Thanks
-'ve ground.
I ended up cutting into the moulded centre section until I reached the brass boss and got it loose using multigrips.
TrevHead vanhandelbars thanks, I've got a similar problem.
I dont think ive ever seen a more useless video on the web anywhere in my life!
LOL. Yes, I have to agree it is pretty lame. I"m glad you looked at it though.
