you obviously never have ridden a bmx bike and jumped with it, it takes real skill on a bmx bike to control the bike on jumps like that.Not to mention you have to get over the fear of jumping like that with a risk of seriously hurting yourself.

It's not necessary at all bu really makes the race interesting for the audience. From a BMX Racer myself, I don't even pay attention to the announcer in a race. It is completely blocked out.

Bmx is a great sport, you can be a 10 year old kid racing with all your buddies then you get to talk to the pros an watch them race on the same track you just raced on (at nationals) but still to say its not a sport is ridiculous. A sport is an activity involving physical exertion and skill against others.

I think the packed crowd of 6,000 people that attended the London olympic BMX finals would disagree...even Becks turned up, it was my favorite event to watch and i've never even ridden a BMX. Lots of excitement, thrills and of course spills. Maybe you were talking about dressage and got the videos mixed up ;)
