I would like to refer to the way the part 0:50 - 1:20 was performed. There is no question about the singer, who is talented, however the part lacked character and proper review, and the part sounded subpar compared to the rest. Improvisation or cover can be stunningly good provided there is enough work put to them.

For me, the 'Hallelujah' was a bit of a 'truth-test': a test to see if what you were singing could be felt intensely enough to be able to shout it out to the whole world, to the abysses, to the sky above and the universe beyond. Unfortunately, in my opinion, you couldn't. Or at least here you failed. And not because your voice was too different or more delicate than Sade's, but because you lost yourself in attempts at virtuosity and melismas in typical Afro-American style that were really unnecessary here and could have been easily (and preferably) avoided. You screwed yourself over with your own hands. A pity, because you sing well, but perhaps you will have to work on this song again and again to feel it truly and definitively yours. You can improve your technique, you can improve your power, but the right spirit to perform this piece... you may have to work a little harder to find that. For me you can do it, don't give up. You did a good job anyway, and I thank you for your valuable sharing.
