To my viewers and subscribers I apologize that it’s taken so long for me to upload a new video but I’m back with another ride on a WMATA D40LFR. This ride was incredible as we went from hauling ass on I-395 to winding through suburban streets in VA during some heavy rain storms all while on a fantastic sounding unit so I hope you’ll stick around for this video on the full ride from Pentagon to GMU.

Too many old metro trains like 1982 and 2007
2&3000 series > 6&7000 series
It’s interesting that they are running so many 8 car trains. Also car 3000 is a nice spotting. I rode that one on the blue line from rosslyn to Franconia Springfield I think.

Potomac Yard was the first station opening I got to attend. It's such a nice station, although I wish the walkability nearby was better. The station's PA speakers actually don't suck for once which is a really nice change.

Great that the YL is back!!! Bummer it is only going to Mt. Vernon Square though for the foreseeable future rather than Greenbelt like from april 2019 to september 2022, even with more Green line trains. Hopefully once more 7ks get back they'll reconsider or the FBI goes there

I miss the 5A and B30 Metrobuses. The B30 Metrobus used to operate in the Landover Division and go from Greenbelt Metro Station to Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

No. It does go on MD-410, but it doesn’t stay there for very long, as there are parts of the F4 route along Riverdale Rd and Annapolis Rd.

I know the 2008s and 2009s have retired earlier than expected.
Lot of em retired early bc they were treated like shit at Cinder Bed Road when Transdev was there. The rest are basically coming up on the final years of their useful service lives.
@@dmvtransit5494 Yeah I know and that also reflects on how a majority of the 2009 MetroExtra buses from Montgomery Division have been retired already which makes more bus shortages and that’s one of the reasons why the 2006 D40LFRs are still active.

Thanks and the electric artics haven’t been delivered yet so I haven’t had a chance to see them. Most likely they’ll be XE60s but we’ll have to see. I don’t have that much information about them.

79 is a Metro Extra route meaning that there is limited stops and the route is more frequent.
If you film from the parking garage, you can get an awesome view of the entire train on the curve at Dulles, especially on the roof level.

Headways are bad rn because most of the 7000-series trains are still out of service and have been for over a year, so WMATA has a train shortage. While this is pretty bad, it’s seen worse days
@@dmvtransit5494 New York City Scraped Their R-32 Trains This Year Before The New Trains Arrives. Right Now The R-46 Subway Cars Are Still Currently Running, But The Suffer From Mechanical Problems. This Cause Delayed Trains. If The R-46 Or The New Trains Were To Act Up The System Would Be Heavily Delayed.
