Turning a simple drawer pull
Here's a really easy technique for making custom drawer pulls. The wood is ebony, and the sanding grits I used were 220, 320, 400, 800, 1500. The wax is dark brown wax from Briwax.

Watch how a handcrafted cabinet comes together in 2 minutes.
It's similar, but unfortunately it's a little different from the real thing.
I've just come here after seeing a beautiful sideboard made by you on pinterest, and visiting your website. Your work is incredible.
Hi Mike, I would like to purchase your Kumiko set. Please let me know when it becomes available. Thank you.
What a great video. Something I will definitely have to try.
Thank you for showing those of us that prefer not to have every power tool on the market how this simple but precise tool can be adequately made.
Did you make the angle block guide or buy it? If you bought it where is it available?
Thanks for sharing Mike!
Lots of questions left unanswered, which is sad.
that little "hold-down" tool/jig/gadget is a great idea!
It takes persistence to make it
beautiful 😍
Congratulations for the explanation and for the excellent work, I am very tempted to do something close to what you did, could you give me some information about the cutting blocks, dimensions and also the sticks used, it seems to be 8x2 mm, it would help a lot to get started if you make a lot of mistakes. Hugs from Brazil
I have a set Narex Richter chisels I like from 1/8 to 1.5". I bought them of the Narex site and for the rating they get the price point is fair and right out of the box they are very sharp and cut well. I suggest you see the chisels reviewed and rated. You can buy the separate if you want. The 1/8" and 1.5" will do if you do not plan to use they others. Note: I am not paid and I purchased them myself. Well My wife bought 3 of them for Christmas.
Thanks for posting mike!

Thanks Mike. I just finished making my blocks. Today I'll prepare my stock and hopefully get started in the next day or so. Your video (and Matt Kinney's book) is exactly what I needed to get started.
I would like to know the dimensions of the blocks to get started. I also ordered Matt Kinney's book and also Michael Pekovich's Foundations of Woodworking but they weren't delivered yet. Are the dimensions listed in Matt's book?
Super
Perfectamente bien explicado...
Thanks for showing this technique. My students have to make some small, simple pulls and this is perfect!

Still enjoying The Why & How of Woodworking book - can’t wait for the next book. Found this to be extremely helpful with Kumiko and all around woodworking.

Spec-tac-u-lar! My highest compliment.
What wood would you use for this?

Where'd you get the hook from? I've done a search for kumiko hooks and can't find anything. I'm not in a position to make my own. Thanks
Where do you get the notched pieces?
Hey Mike, where does one purchase the jig kit you discussed in this video? I don't see a link in your video.

Thank you for this content! GREAT video -I really liked the pulls in your book (The Why and How of Woodworking) so great to see how to make them. Burnishing with shavings is new to me as well. The book kicks ass by the way.
I think I need your video on chisel sharpening!-haha Do you have links to the blocks? Kumiko strip thickness?-Same thickness as a saw blade...less some tolerance ....Great video: clear concise...and MOTIVATING! (subscribed)
Great video for novice woodworkers to follow.
