If you can call that shot ,you're the only one. If you do call that shot and hit it ,go but a lottery ticket, cause you are one lucky man
@@ronchristle1125 after 8 years of practice, these guys have it locked in now and can hit it regularly. We’d push them further but the range only goes to 500!
Fantastic shooting!! Great Grouping on that target/golfball on the right!! What caliber was that one?
Thanks for watching! That's a 6 BR. I'm told the shooter has a 1.1" 5-shot group on his wall from this distance. We'll update the description with the gear!
Like this game, going to suggest it at PGRGC. We go out to 1400m so we could make it a real challenge.
@@BH-by5ky We have a few people who would LOVE to visit and send a few out that far. Your range sounds amazing!
@@lotwgc Members have been doing a number of improvements over the summer, new shelter, grading of range, and in the last few weeks adding Hit Target Impact Indicators on the steel targets.
@ Wow-that’s a ton of great work! Over here, we were building backstops and upgrading the sporting clays equipment. Sounds like your crew is on the same “always improving” plan! 🙌
Oh just pack your guns, for crap sakes. Lazy. No wonder kids nowadays don't do sh!t Lazy adults,Lazy kids, Lazy world.
Update: When scored with a plug and loupe, this target is a 194. Bulls 11 and 16 are scored wrong by the app. Bulls 2 and 25 the app had right and the human had wrong. And Bull 10 everyone had wrong-it’s a biting 8, not a 7. There is no X hit.
Cool video, similar to the errors you get using group sizing apps, no replacement for the human eye, a plug or a decent set of calipers IMO.
Agreed! We rescored with a plug/loupe and got 194-2 human eyeball errors, 2 app errors and one everyone missed. Thanks for watching!
And having to 'take a black background' to the range And mess with 'Lighting' to get 'consistent' scoreing. Lotta fussing around when looked at overall. Worse than the fussing with 'ballistic programs' for useless data. JMO
@@fasteddie1360 that makes sense! And we’ve seen experts eyeball a target and score it accurately in about 15 seconds. But it was fun to play around with this app!
Well, if you have to 'cross-check' to eliminate those 'Obvious' paper tears,. I'd not bother with the app or the targets. Just another gimmick IMO.
@@fasteddie1360 that’s a fair comment! We’re going to score this with a plug and see what it says-we’ll get a third opinion. Ha.
Awesome video. Very thorough. I’ve found similar results.
Thanks for sending the targets over! Well keep playing with it, but we won’t use the app to score when you’ve got a 250 logged and we’re counting up X’s next year!

Truly some do not understand benchrest and do not have discipline nor manners for the sport.
We definitely understand that people have preferences, but as long as everyone is having fun hitting targets downrange, we think it's all great. Thanks for watching!
Great job on the 2024 trap windup. Big shout out to Steve and all the volunteers that made it all happen.
@@joeburke8819 thanks for being there and leaving dust behind!
That was a crazy amount of wind flags. Confusing at first, but I tried to see if I could judge when I thought he might shoot next. Great video.
@@jamesmelton818 thank you! We used a wide angle of the whole field to show all the flags, but it’s easier to see when the camera is right behind the shooter. We did that for Phil’s Canadian record target in another video. In this clip, 3 shooters had several flags downrange. On case it helps, Phil’s are on the far right. Thanks for watching!
Great shooting and I love what you all are doing. Having fun, passing on your learnings.
We appreciate your challenges. They provide a great excuse to get together, have some fun and put holes in targets! Many thanks!
When i was in the Army i always shot expert. But when qualifying on a stupid paper target, id always shoot 36 or 37 outta 40. But if i had the pop up human silhouettes id shoot 38 or 40 outta 40.

Nice shooting with a desk mounted vice!!!!! Where is the actual human skill in this?…
@@Pitsy You might be surprised how hard it is to hit the X. Would you ever try a benchrest match?
@@lotwgc I do them in Cyprus but I only own a bipod and assorted bags for my DRS Pro
Nice! Bipods and bags are super fun, too. We have a few long-range shooters who will use them in bench matches. That DRS sounds like a sweet rifle. Hope you put them all in the 10 ring!
Wow! A genuine troll.
@@robinireland810 why a troll - stating a fact!! Not much skill using a branch rest that does all the work and just pulling the trigger!!!
Do you shoot 5 separate targets at 200 meters or 5 shots per target. Wish you were not so far away.
@@thegunslinger4570 in this match, it was 5 separate target sheets with 5 bulls each, for a max score of 250. You have 7 minutes to shoot 5 record targets, and then new targets are placed. So the wind changes over the course of the match. Where are you at? Come visit sometime!
@@lotwgc Ok I see the challenge of it then. I'm In Renfrew County. We shoot 5 per target, 25 shots total, 35 minute time limit. Centerfire at 200 and 400 yards.
Nice! We do rimfire a lot like that: 25 bulls in 30 minutes, with three separate targets, for 75 total. Anytime you're in the western part of the province, stop by to put a few in the 10 ring!

@@marku123 This is 30 BR. Thanks for watching!
I don't understand what this is but I will say, I find if you have your rifle on a "vice" without any shoulder and or cheek weld ...then that ain't shooting ! Sorry ... Shoot a world record without holding the rifle is not impressive sorry but I shoot like this with my cheap setup on a Caldwell tack driver bag with shoulder/cheek weld. Nice job though, I guess
@@jayrider837 don’t worry! This guy has done very impressive stuff with every kind of firearm and bow in every position. This is just one discipline. If you’re very accurate off a bag, enter a local match and take home some hardware! Let us know how you do!
@@lotwgcI kind of see where this guy is coming from. Im competitive in F open at my club matches and love the sport but I also dont feel like its as true from of marksmanship as Palma ir the other sling shooters with peeep sights or lower magnification optics. Still though all gun disciplines are fun and short range br is no exception. These guys really push the envelope on rifle accuracy. Outstanding job by this man and I hope the sport grows even more
@@hellyeah3871 Agreed on growing the sport! The great part of it is that there are so many variations-something for everyone. We bust clays, shoot silhouettes, host biathlon races and plink plates with pistols. It's all a ton of fun. These guys do all that stuff, too, and when they decide to lock in on the bench and put 'em all through the same hole, it's a lot of fun to watch. Keep hitting targets!

Canadian record? We shoot this target at 250 at my local club. 5 shots per target in a total of 30 minutes. One member has put all 25 in the bull on more than one occassion.
@@1qikz210 nice work! Your club should register the matches and take runs at records! This is one of 5 targets in this match, and in this format each one was shot in 7 minutes, with a fair bit of reset time in between for the target crew. When the wind changes over 2 hours, it gets tough! Keep hitting 10s!
Where can I find rules on Benchrest?
@@jmc041071 you can start at nbrsa.org in the U.S. or chat with the experts at benchrestforum.ca in Canada. Hope that helps!
@@lotwgc Thank you it does help. Right now any info helps because I'm a complete noob at this. I'm just trying to learn what I can since I cant shoot yet. Can't afford a rifle right now but I really want to get into some kind of shooting sport
@@jmc041071 See if you can find some kind, experienced people at a local club or online! The person who made this video for us started on that same path and competed in his first match this year with a $350 .22 and $6 ammo. He had a great time, with support from our veteran shooters. Keep us posted on your progress!
Nice work Phil!
The man sure knows how to find a bull’s eye!
This shows it's not all about the gear. Ryan, 1st place, had a custom benchrest rig built on a Holeshot 2500 bolt and action. The bolt and action go for around $1400 USD. Crystal, 2nd place had a CZ452 varmint, factory rifle. They run around $600.-USD. She was behind one 'X' on target one. I bet if she'd had a CZ453 with the gold, set trigger; she may have won.
@@R005t3r the only way to sort it all out is more trips to the range! Everybody wins!

How does the top barrel pattern?
@@josephmulivrana1720 we didn’t test the it with this shotgun, but if you look back about 4 videos in our shorts, you can see top and bottom barrels with 2 different loads and 2 different chokes in a Beretta 691. The top barrel shoots higher!

After trying 7 different 22 brands, my best group was SK at 50 yards. The group was shot at 35 degrees at 7:30 AM (not good .72 dia.) and later at 58 degrees sometime around 3PM. Way better--.58 dia. These were only 5 shot groups. It looks like the temperature is a variable that has to be considered. Love this rifle and scope combo.
It's amazing what you have to consider! Our best shooters even know barometric pressure at different ranges. SK, Lapua and Eley are the brands we see most often at matches. Thanks so much for watching!
Nice match I love seeing this thank you for sharing. You fellas should shoot the Dayattherange Captain America Challenge.
@@Dayattherange thanks for watching - and great idea! We have a few people who might love the Capt. America challenge!
Thumbs down for stupid music. It doesnt make our viewing experience any better than if having got to hear the actual sounds of the guns, people, etc
Fair enough, but you'll note the RUclips music library is extremely limited, and this video is less about firing than the equipment and targets, so we didn't subject you to broken, incomplete sentences and the weird audio you get when you speed up a target that was shot over 20 minutes. Thanks for watching!
This vid needs more likes
Pac nor barrel?
We'll have to get back to you on that - the action was Holeshot!
So basically whoever is willing to spend the most money on equipment has the better chance of winning. It should be from a bipod and then we’ll see who the real marksman are.
@@youtubejunkie8053 Don’t worry-we have a sporter class as well, and silhouette matches with iron sights. Something for everyone!
We shoot a target match from 50/100/150/200/300m at Milcun. I shot 2nd place with 249.28/250.50; lost by two 'X'. I was using a CZ452 American in left hand, set in an MDT LSS chassis. Shot with Tenex. 1st place went to a BRNO2 target rifle, with match trigger, heavy barrel and adjustable wooden target stock and the shooter of course. Shot with Center-X
@@R005t3r Nice! It definitely isn’t all about the gear! The expensive stuff is great, but it can still be wasted in the wrong hands!
