    I had forgotten this round! I've done arrangements of Hey, Ho, Nobody Home (even one for Christmas) But this has a lovely folk lyric that I remember I really loved singing as a young woman.

    This is beautiful! I have been wondering if I have been "cheating" by anchoring my pinky and ring finger of my strumming/picking hand - because it feels natural to me, but I haven't seen anyone else do it. And today you advised me to do exactly what I have been doing!

      It really helps me to anchor pinky and ring fingers to the side of the fretboard. It gives me something to push against and a home base. Glad that advice helped you!!

    Thanks for all your suggestions! I am still in my first few weeks of playing dulcimer. I do a lot of sliding with this song. On the chorus, I slide UP to the second fret on the D string (hen) and down to the second fret on the A string (hen). I think I'll try some vibrato now!

    I thought there was only an A part. I like the B part though. Idk if this is true but it kinda seems like the B part could be played over the A as a harmony, so in a jam they might just be playing the A part while someone sings over the two A parts then plays B as a harmony.

      Hmmm...that's an idea! I'm going to give it a try. As to the B part, you can probably hear it differently anywhere the tune is played. This melody got stuck in my head a a jam once and so it stays!
