I think that also requires that you live above other people's views of those things. I believe god was saying that when those who lie against you use their deceit to attack you, you must also live above letting it affect you. I don't believe it's just a call to live righteously. I believe it's also a call to discard concern for those who would falsely condemn you. God calls for action about those who would do such things unjustly. You can't deal with an enemy who beats you down with their rhetoric. Weakness is not what god calls out of any man or woman.
