Still going strong! Taramps are great as long as your voltage is good and your line voltage to it isn’t very high.

I prefer birch plywood but heard some great sounding boxes made with different wood. Acoustically MDF is great the downfall is it’s very heavy. The best advice I can give is as long as the box is built to the specs of your subs and is solid it’ll sound great! I hope that answers your question.

The Ampere’s are some great subs. I got them on a trade which is why I had them. I’ve always run Sundown so went back to them.

Just pulled them today. Will start installing the Sundowns tomorrow.

We never tested the SPL on this cause it was meant to be a musical box and customer not into numbers.

Always remember that cone area is king. The 3 subs in a box built for them would be louder. The beefy subs would make a difference if being compared to the same number of subs (2 beefy subs compared to 2 entry level subs).

@biggfredh38 cool yeah think I may go with the 4 8s. Builder near me built a ported box for my yr truck that was 3.5cu net ported. I jus gotta decide if I wanna get 4 db drive G5 8s or 4 U8s. The U8 I seen can play in .75cu net per as well as the G5 8s. I'm hopping I can do atleast a 140db with 4. I was looking at getting a Salt 3 amp most likely. I jus wanna get as loud an deep as possible lol

Yes. The subs are D4’s so we ran them in a series parallel configuration to 2 ohms.

The lows are great after the subs break in. They also hit the higher notes as well.

They make great power imo. I’ve always ran mine with a DSP which helps with the crossover points and signal strength. For the money you can’t beat them.

I no longer have this vehicle but have run this exact same processor in the vehicles that replaced this one. I love it. There’s zero noise from it other than what should come from it and it’s definitely worth it!
