2025 Short Term Plan Options
Short Term plans have been controversial since the Affordable Care Act was introduced to the public. I believe that they have a purpose, but agents need to educate their clients on them. There has been recent legislative changes that affect how Short Term plans can be offered starting Sept 1st, 2024 and going forward until such time as the rules change again.
In this Session I invited Letty from Pivot to come on and explain their products and the solution that they came up with. In first part of the video is talking about more in depth of their different products and at the end, (44:00) Letty shares exactly how someone can be covered by short term for 12 months.

    Hello, thank you for clearing this one up!!! Q's: based on what I saw the example you provided, about having an $8000 deductible, if the plan has a deductible from what I understood, if they where to use the manufacture's coupon that will go towards the deductible, however, if the plan they choose is a $0deductible/$3000 deduct for prescription if they use a coupon only the $15 will go towards the deductible...my q's is if the client choose a silver plan with a very low deductible of $600 for med can they still use the manufacturer's coupon?... I got a new potential client that takes about 10 medications some of them are tier 3 & 4 the no longer qualifies for Medicaid because supposedly she makes too much money.

      Yes, she can use the manufacturer coupon. How the insurance carrier classifies it will vary by carrier. So reach out to your broker support team with the carrier and ask them how it is handled. It is probably still worth it to use the coupon regardless.
