Quarantined Growing Salad Greens
Growing salad greens at home is easy. Whether in the ground or container. You can have a variety of colors and flavors. Unlike the store bought salad. You will have a very nutritious and tasty salad. Salad greens from the store can be dangerous. Recalls such as Listeria and the such can make you very sick or worse. Salad greens are a very fragile product. The tender leaves wilt within hours, but the grocery greens need to be fresh for days. It often has to travel for many miles and still be looking good on the day of purchase. To achieve this salad greens need to be preserved. And even if you buy organic, it most likely is in a package that has been sprayed with preservatives. If you grow...

Quarantine Gardening Harvesting Garlic Scapes
Просмотров 4434 года назад
Garlic scapes are the stalks that grow from the bulbs of hardneck garlic plants. I have Texas Wild Garlic. If left unharvested, the scapes eventually bloom flowers when the garlic plant fully matures. However, the scapes are usually harvested before they flower so the garlic plant can channel all its energy into producing the largest and most flavorful bulbs. The resulting scapes taste mild and...

A Walk Through The Garden

Will my garden survive the rain? That’s the chief question among North Texas gardeners and all affected by the heavy rains. After battling the effects of drought, plants now suffer from too much rain? I’m getting those yellowing leaves. Yellowing leaves, caused by the lack of essential nutrients caused by too much water. Nutrients are washed out of the soil from the rains. So be sure to add tho...

Planting a Neem Tree and its benefits
Просмотров 11 тыс.5 лет назад
Neem trees require plenty of bright sunlight. The trees benefit from regular moisture, but be careful not to overwater, as the tree won’t tolerate wet feet or poorly drained soil. Allow the soil to dry between every watering. Feed the tree about once a month in spring and summer, using a light application of any good quality, balanced fertilizer, a dilute solution of water-soluble fertilizer or...

And planting fun things like the cranberry hibiscus lets them have a little fun w...

I have Artichoke starters in 4 inch pots after 6 weeks I can plant in my garden, than 4 weeks later you can start to fertilize with 20-0-0 every week, the are heavy nitrogen feeders and water as well, will be about 6 months for 1st harvest, unless you missed the season will take longer.

All my seeds sprouted and then instantly went brown, withered and died, when potted up in the same potting mix I've made for all my successful plants, bottom watered, started inside under a light, at 80 degrees indoor temp. Is this normal? Is this one of those 1 seed out of 20 makes it plants? Any other ideas?
