Okay, I'll walk you through the diagnostic path to finding what's wrong without just throwing parts on it. tools: scan tool, Vacuum gauge, compression testing gauge, fuel pressure test gauge. Instructions for each tool are or were in the box so I won't waste my time going over that. test for spark don't just change the plug and wires or the cap and rotor, test it at the plug. Got spark?Yes/no if not it's electrical fix the no spark. Got spark yes, next test compression 3 puffs should be above 135 more is better. 130 or lower just mark it down. Now the running Vacuum reading, how the needle reacts will tell what's going on inside. Normal readings will be steady and between 17-21 inch a steady low reading of 15 inches indicates rings are going south. It Could be a burnt valve and testing can confirm it instead of pulling the head to find out that was not it. Back yard boys spend more money chasing down issues by throwing parts at it, that by the time they have solved the problem it will have cost them more than a shop with a knowledgeable mechanic. Ice like that is kind of fun when it gets just warm enough under it to begin melting. It slides and comes off in sheets pretty easily. I worked with a guy who said he's worked in South Dakota.
