I'm rebuilding a bsa a65 at the moment, slightly different layout but I used my oil can to check it out, mind you my sludge trap was clear.
Good catch! I am rebuilding my first 650 and will double check that my new crank plug does not block the oil passage. Luckily my oil galley was clear on my bike, so no worries in that department. Thanks for the tip!

Its worth mentioning that there is a video here ruclips.net/video/_1LjPUcoHiQ/видео.html that shows a process of polishing with fine grit steel wool to remove scratches and free up the throttle valve to move freely again. Ill likely give this process a shot before I invest almost $1000 in new carbs.
